Ostad Lotfi will teach classes during his visit to Southern California in June 2003.
He teaches all Iranian instruments (tar, setar, kamanche, daf, tombak, ney) and voice.

Lake Arrowhead Retreat

We will have a music retreat in Lake Arrowhead.

Each day there will be lectures, discussions, and workshops.
Each evening will bring a special gathering of poetry and music.

Sample schedule: 8 breakfast, 9-1 work, 1-3 lunch & rest, 3-7 work, 7-9 rest & dinner, 9:30-midnight poetry and music.

Advanced and serious students are recommended to sign up for 4-6 private lessons.

Summer Workshop in World Music

Ostad Lotfi will give a lecture/demo on Persian Music at the 2003 Summer Workshop in World Music at San Diego State University.

Thursday June 12 3:30-5:30 pm at SDSU (Music Dept room 207).

The Workshop is intended for graduate- and undergraduate-level music educators, and will open on Sunday evening, 8 June, close on Friday evening, 13 June, and includes performance opportunities and formal lectures in Javanese Gamelan, African Ensemble, Indian and Persian Classical Musics.


 

Rates
Private lessons (1 hour) and Group Workshops (2-3 hours) are $50 a session.
Retreat tuition is $100 for 1-day and $150 for 2-3 days.  Food, lodging and chores not included, and will be shared by students.
