CHAPTER SIX

Passage of Time:

There never seems to be enough time. Rather it's 10 minutes before you leave the office, or 2 minutes before the alarm goes off in the morning. I know there's 60 seconds in a minute ... and sixty minutes in an hour ... 24 hours in a day. It just doesn't seem that way. It's never enough time. I spend most of my time either planning how to spend my time or taking care of the details of what my time goes into. Is time like beer ... are we just renting it ? Or is it more like space ... something we're just passing through ?

The passage of time is measured by natural things ... the Earth's rotation ... the moon's orbit ... the passing of the solar year. It doesn't seem like I'm doing something right, or maybe I'm not doing it at all. I'm not really a busy person. I care for my child, work, visit with my friends and mind the daily chores, but busy is not word I would use to describe myself ... more like inundated with the small stuff. I guess we all are. I should look at the bigger picture and 'Just Do It' (thanks Nike).

I try to keep time in my life to stop and smell the roses ... but I get tired of having to Band-Aid from the thorns. Where does all the time go ?

Today my work will change the world. I'm not afraid ... Are you ?
