On May 7, we reached Italy, stopped at Juliet's famous balcony in Verona and then visited the Roman Arena before reaching our hotel in the Venice region.

The "Bridge Of Sighs", Venice

Next morning, we took a motor launch to St. Mark's Square in Venice where we saw the Dog's Palace and a demonstration of Venetian glass-blowing and lace-making. We also enjoyed a gondola ride along the Grand Canal and sailed beneath the Bridge of sighs. Then we took a lagoon cruise to Burano Island and enjoyed a superb Venetian seafood lunch.

May 9, we left Venice for Switzerland. We passed through the Italian Lake Distric to the Swiss Alps with it's snow covered mountain peaks, waterfalls and flower beddecked chalets.
