American Colonization Checklist:
The following activities must be successfully completed before moving on to the Declaration of Independence unit.

Activity 1 
You created a new title page in your notebook. You titled this one 
Colonization and Revival in the United States
 

Activity 2 
A map was created in your notebook highlighting the 13 colonies. Each colonial region was color coded; New England, Middle, and Southern colonies. The map included a legend, a compass rose, a scale indicator, and a caption with the map. 

Activity 3 
Completed and mailed the Colonial America Reading Page.

Activity 4
Read, completed the questions and emailed the answers on Johnathan Edwards

Activity 5 Due 
Wrote a letter to a friend that explains the concept of a revival, depicts the individual's stance regarding the Great Awakening ideas, and illustrates the energy and persuasiveness used in the sermons of the period.

Final Activity 
You are put play about a group of colonists who settled in America. You included how many people to take with you, what kinds of occupations they should have, and where to settle. Make sure you explain the reasons for each choice. 

Evaluation Criteria
Exemplary:

  • Your map has been completed on time. It includes a legend, a compass rose, a scale indicator, and a caption on the map. The map is accurate and glued into your notebook.
  • You have accurately identified and sighted examples of the beliefs of one of the Great Awakening speakers.
  • You have taken on the role and beliefs of Lord Baltimore, explaining why the Toleration Act of 1649 was important.
  • You have identified what it takes to create a successful colony. Types of jobs have been identified. Your play well written and performed for the class.

    Proficient:

  • You have identified and given an example of the beliefs of one of the Great Awakening speakers.
