The Sound of Freedom Comes to America

The Legislative branch of government is divided into two groups of people, collectively they are called the Congress. They are the House of Representatives (House for short) and the Senate. The House is the larger of the two houses of Congress. It currently has 435 members. A House member must be at least 25 years old, a US citizen for 7 or more years, and a resident of the state from which they are elected. A Representative may serve as many two year terms as they are elected for. The Senate is the smaller of the two houses of Congress.
It currently has 100 members. A House member must be at least 30 years old, a US citizen for 9 or more years, and a resident of the state from which they are elected. A Senator may serve as many six year terms as they are elected for.  Read more about the Congress on pages 218 - 220 in your textbook.
