The United States and Latin America
Welcome to a unit that centers on the United States and their relationship with the countries of Latin America. The United States has had good and bad relations with their Neighbors to the south. Much of the history originated with US ties to Mexico, but it soon spread father to the south.
 
By the end of this period of history, you will be able to do the following:
Identify the progress the US made in the acquisition of territory
Analyze the Monroe Doctrine and its effect on US foreign policy
Explain the remifications of the Roosevelt Corollary
Show evidence of Dollar Diplomacy today
Identify the characteristics of the relationship between the US and Peru

From here you must begin with the Readings section. The readings will focus on information you can find in your book and also sources from the Internet. After you are finished, move on to the Activities. To make sure you have completed all the necessary work, check the Rubric to be sure you are done.
