The following table describes the information held in each column of the output files. These files can be accessed from my main go page.
| Western | Any personal name that traditionally goes before the family name, as in western countries and the English names of Chinese players. |
| Surname | Family name or surname. |
| Eastern | Any personal name that traditionally goes after the family name, as in China, Korea, Japan and Hungary. |
| Status | Active, inactive, retired, overseas, deceased, etc.. A + means we are sure, ? means we aren't, % means the program guessed on the basis of how long since they last played. |
| Min | Lowest dan rank ever claimed. |
| Rank | Weighted average rank claimed. |
| Max | Highest dan rank ever claimed. |
| Last | Most recent dan rank claimed. |
| Min | One standard deviation below ln(s). 90% or so chance, in theory, of being at least this high. |
| ln(s) | Natural (base e) logarithm of best guess of player's strength si. |
| Max | One standard deviation above ln(s). 90% or so chance, in theory, of being no higher. |
| Min | One standard deviation below Calc. 90% or so chance, in theory, of being at least this high. |
| Calc | The strength converted into a dan rank equivalent, based on fitting in with what other players are claiming. Take with a large grain of salt. |
| Max | One standard deviation above Calc. 90% or so chance, in theory, of being no higher. |
| Min | One standard deviation below Equ. 90% or so chance, in theory, of being at least this high. |
| Equ | The Calc column written as a rank. k means kyu, d means dan. + means better than average for this rank, - means worse than average for this rank, no + or - means about average. Note that a 5d+ is weaker than a 6d-. |
| Max | One standard deviation above Equ. 90% or so chance, in theory, of being no higher. |
| Promote | If this is positive then the player has never claimed as high a rank as the program thinks he deserves, so maybe he should be promoted. Take with a very large grain of salt indeed. |
| First | Month of earliest tournament in which this player participated. |
| Last | Month of most recent tournament in which this player participated. |
