28th April 2002 As we farewelled Downunda at Melbourne Airport one can only wonder what sort of adventures lay ahead for him over the next few months. He seems determined this time to make it to the end and something tells me he will. He is more prepared this time having been there before, knows what he's in for and has previous experience behind him. I really think he'll complete the journey so long as he stays injury free. So as I write this Downunda is in Transit and is due to hit the start of the Trail within the next day or two. This trip he is keeping a detailed Journal for Trailjournals.com and most of his Journal will be posted on both sites. A Trail friend from his previous trip, Relic, has kindly offered to help Downunda out with this site. Downunda will be in regular contact with him by snail mailing diary notes so with Relic's help plus phone calls back home, both sites should stay pretty current. Stay tuned as the Adventure is about to begin! Some photos displayed on this site are not necessarily Downundas but may include photos taken by others as they hiked or visited the AT areas Downunda is now hiking. Michelle |
