I forgot to mention that Northbound thru-hikers 'Blaze' and 'Cowboy' were at the shelter last night.

Today was again hot and the trail threw up some tough climbs. I hiked with 'Blaze' and 'Cowboy' through the day. 'Blaze' is counting the white blazes that mark the AT path. So far, he is up to 61,768 blazes from the AT terminus in Georgia up to mile 1760.5 in New Hampshire.

Around 12:30 when we stopped form lunch at the South Jacob Brook, we met 'Texas T', a young female hiker from Texas. She is hiking with car support and offered to give us a lift to the Hikers Welcome Hostel from the highway about six miles further along the trail, so we took up her offer, and are now at the hostel.

This morning we came across some trail magic, a cooler with cans of coke, apples, and candy - it was great.

Tomorrow, I plan to do just 10 miles. That will put me at the shelter at the base of Mt. Moosilauke. This is a 3500 foot climb that I want to take on first thing on a new day.

That's it for now. Goodnight all.
