I hit the trail at 6:30 A.M. today so I could get to town early. It was an easy hike in, in pleasant sunshine; lots of rabbits as I got closer to civilization.

The AT came down out of the hills; wandered through some fields, then suddenly, I was on Highway 220 (pictured). I walked 100 yards down the highway and checked into the Econolodge at $46.00 per night - nice room.

I headed off and had a quick lunch then down to the Outfitters. Tough luck, the Outfitters is closed on Sunday. I'll have to wait until 10:00 A.M. on Monday. I then risked "life and limb" and walked a further mile up through the interstate interchange to get my photos processed. Walking through major highway intersections in the USA is not for the faint-hearted. It's far more dangerous than the AT.

I spotted Corncob down at the gas station and we decided to walk to Cucci"s Italian Restaurant about a mile away. It wasn't my day. When we got there, we discovered it was closed on Sunday. I ended up settling for a salad from the supermarket.

That's all for now, goodnight all.
