Special Meetings

I've been lucky to have pictures of special meetings and events in my life. How many people can say they have a photo of the exact moment they met their spouse? Well, I sure can and it's included on this page! Thanks to my friend, Geoff, who supplied the photo of that exact time and to my pal, Trey, for the photo of Joe and I at our second gathering of Monkees fans.

Above: This is a photo of the gathering of Monkees fans before a concert Aug 16, 1996. Trey is looking directly at the camera and (my future husband) Joe is to the right of her in the black shirt. I'm directly behind Trey so you can only see part of my head but this photo captures the exact instance where Joe and I met for the first time. We're gabbing away in this picture which is completely priceless to me.

Above: Joe and I after our union in the previous photo. This was taken in November 1996 before another Monkees concert with virtually the same gathering of fans. This time we came together as a couple. Joe's in the hat and I'm to his left in the blue and white striped sweater.

Above: This captures a very monumental point in my life. The photo was taken by me before my first Monkees concert at the Cincinnati Zoo in July 1996. The photo includes the same group of people who waited in line ALL day to see The Monkees. Why was that important, you ask? Well, because it was general seating and the earlier you got there, the better the seats would be (or should have been anyway). What started out as a small group of people grew to several thousand and we were in the front of that mob! Barb Kieffer's in this picture. I met her at this event and she became one of my first fanclub members. She's still a member to this day! For those of you familiar with the story behind this particular concert, notice the "yellow" tape behind the group of people. That was supposed to prevent fans from rushing the stage and seating area up around the bend before it was time. Do you think it worked? Of course not! This group of people became a family, fending off the mob of overzealous fans who did almost crush us in the rush for seats. If you are in this picture and we have lost touch, please drop me an e-mail!
