Stress Management/Wellness

 I offer one-on-one individual wellness counselling and corporate Stress Management workshops.

 Sessions are based on identifying your individual stressors. You learn techniques that effectively reduce stress and will help you to lead a life of  wholeness and wellness.

 You will learn:

        Simple but effective movements based on Tai Chi principles and dance therapy.

        Breathing techniques to calm and centre yourself.

        Meditation

        Positive self-talk.

        Creative Visualization

 You will receive support and guidance to help you release the negative stressors in your life and bring about balance.

 Eight-week group sessions in Stress Management also available.

 Generally the more stressful events you experience within a short time, the more stressed you are likely to be.  To look at your stress level total the  events that happened in the last six months.  Changes in our lives often lead to stress.

0 – 8   A score of six or under suggests you are not very stressed.

9 – 14  You are experiencing moderate stress and should look carefully at your lifestyle and anything that is worrying you.  Take a look at the ways you deal with stress.

14+      A score of 10 or over suggests that you are under considerably more stress than the average person and you are at risk of stress-related illnesses, you should consider carefully your techniques for dealing with stress.  Start relaxing.

 Physical Symptoms:

  •    Dry throat and mouth
  •    Muscle tension

  •    Indigestion/queasy stomach

 Mental/Emotional Symptoms:

  •    Inability to concentrate
  •    Emotional tension
  •    All keyed up
  •    Easily startled
  •    Excessive worrying
  •    Brooding
  •    Forgetfulness
  •    Feeling of worthlessness
  •    Feeling angry

 Behavioural Symptoms

  •    Irritability
  •    Restlessness
  •    Poor judgment
  •    Frequent mistakes
  •    Difficulty making decisions
  •    Sudden increases in smoking or  alcohol use
  •    Mistrust of others
  •    Difficulty getting along with others
