We are aware that it is a difficult task to convey a message to a lay person about the scientific knowledge especially in medicine because of its complexity and the difficult terminology. Keeping this in mind, we have devoted separate pages for the experts in medicine and for the lay public.

This web site is designed in such a way that any common man gets educated about the hernia disease, its symptoms, complications and modalities of the treatment. Picture gallery is added to show different types of hernia, sites where hernia develops and a little about human anatomy especially in relation with hernia.

Some pages are specially designed for experts in medicine to give information about the latest developments in hernia treatment, new concepts described by me about the inguinal hernia physiology, my new operation technique for inguinal hernia repair called as ‘DR. DESARDA’S REPAIR’, abstracts and full texts of the scientific papers about this new technique that got published in the international indexed journals, operative photographs and a video film of the operation etc.

Our mission is to give education about this disease to common man as well as to medical personals. This is the first hernia treatment centre established in India in the city of Pune. We foresee to establish similar centres elsewhere at many places to give specialized and fine treatment for this disease at affordable cost. Our mission is to see, especially in inguinal hernias, that patient goes home in a day, he is immediately ambulatory, he has minimal pain for 1-2 days, he starts his routine in 3-4 days, he is back to his pre-operative work efficiency in 1-2 weeks and still the treatment is cost effective.

We have already achieved this in our study of 860 patients operated by this technique and published those results in the scientific journals of international standard. Now this figure has exceeded 1100 cases operated with excellent results.
