Past news & future events

April 30th : sponsored 24 hour fast in aid of the "Freedom Campaign" against child slavery and bonded labour - £125 raised, enough to buy three children out of bondage. May 22nd : National Young Pavement Artists' Competition local heat run by Paull Guides with the theme "Burrowers underground." Disappointing turnout from the public - guess who didn't realise that it was Cup Final day!!! May 29th - June 5th : Dianne's sailing holiday up the North Sea to Inverness in Scotland (mad fools!!!) July 10th - we were unable to get places at the county "Bullseye" Outdoor Activities Day at Guideacres, our county campsite so we arranged our own District Activity Day at Bail Wood Scout camp site so the girls of our unit and others would not be disappointed. A total of 37 Guides from Paull, Hedon and Aldborough had a great day in glorious sunshine, with wide games, a cook-out and a camp-fire to end the day. August - SUMMER CAMP!!! Bail Wood again - great fun, even if / when it rains. (It can't be as wet as last time we camped there!)

Advance notice - August 2000 - Switzerland here we come! A party of Guides from East Yorkshire, including several from Paull, will be travelling to Switzerland and staying in a real Swiss chalet in Adelboden. We will of course be visiting Our Chalet whilst we are there; there are still places available - email for details.
