Ministry of Outreach Our purpose in outreach is, in response to Jesus’ model to move out as the Church into the world, to be participants in life through serving others.
Christ Church financially supports wider community ministries: London Interfaith Counselling Centre, Mission Services of London, Daily Bread Food Bank, Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, Huron Church Camp. The Christ Church building is used by outside groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, various dance groups and a drum circle. Members of Christ Church participate in the ministry of Huron Church Camp(Diocesan Camp) and Camp Wendake (for persons living and affected by HIV/AIDS). Christ Church takes responsibility for providing worship services at local retirement homes (Central Park Lodge and Waverley Mansion) and Parkwood Hospital. Community BreakfastA breakfast is served, without charge, on the last Saturday of each month (September t0 June) from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. This requires volunteers to: act as hosts greeting individuals, serve breakfast, and help with food preparation and clean-up. This is an outreach ministry to individuals struggling to make ends meet, and to the lonely.
