How the hell did I get here?
Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn’t like this.
Is it a dream or a memory?

::Flashback::
“Morgan,
Teko come here immediately!”a burly man screeched out after his two
rambunctious sons. “Evil is out tonight! I can feel it!”
“Coming
father.” Morgan, the eldest of the two blond haired, blue-eyed children
replied contently.
“Does
he think evil is in the air?” Teko inquired innocently, gazing up at his
big brother.
“Yes.
But only Shanna and Mekka are out now. He senses their power Teko. Don’t
mention a word of this to him or else Ian will have company!”
“Is
Jared still sad?”he muttered quietly.
“Very
sad. I was just talking to him.”
“I
hope Ian finds a way to get out of there soon. Toki and Kallie said that they
had a plan!”he cheered hopefully.
“Mekka
said that we should meet them at her house tonight. Do you want to come with
me?”
“I
just told Shanna I would.”he smiled happily, giggling softly. The two
boys quietly made their way back to their house, smiling mysteriously to one
another as they passed their father. The elder man slowly shut their front
door, scanning the area and shuddering at the same time.
He could
feel the evil in the air. He sensed it swarming around everything in his house-
especially his children. He shuddered again. Silently, he stalked up behind his
children, gazing upon their radiant heads of golden silk, pulling a dagger from
his belt. “Oni wa sotu.”He muttered, raising the twisted blade above
his eldest’s head. “Oni wa sotu…”

XXX’s POV
It had been
another one of those painfully long nights, filled with a dreamless sleep. I
mentally sighed, prying Daisuke’s arms from my body and stood up stretching. My
muscles were sore from a certain war I was more than happy to lose.
I turned
around quietly, facing my sleeping lover. A silver moonlight pooled around his
beautiful body, casting a delicious shadow over his caramel colored skin. I
shivered with sheer pleasure.
He was the
exact same soul. It was him. A smile
caressed my face as I reluctantly averted my gaze, now landing on the rolled up
yellowed scroll that was lying on my table.
Curiously,
I marched over to it, reading what had to be the sweetest words over and over
again. I lifted my head, knowing perfectly well who and what it was talking
about. I drank in his sight, sighing once again. I was definitely going soft.
Quietly,
almost whispering I read the prophecy aloud. The first few words were washed
out from time, but they made no difference. You could understand the whole
thing without them.
Those who have been sent to protect this world will arrive at the Clay
Moon. Sorrow and grief will ride heavily with them, causing their powers to diminish
until the evil of the land poses it’s true threat. Souls of the past, present
and future will unite to form the bond needed to vanquish the cold grip, evils
icy claw holds, but in the process, lives will be lost.
Never again to live, the Guardians of the Chosen will resort to the
Death and Resurrection. A great time will pass, replenishing the lives lost,
re-carving their lives in the exact manner, rebuilding their very existence.
But what is to be foretold, is to be mistaken. The Fates now flipped, must be
re-enacted in perfect sync.
Then, the sky will be darkened by the wings of many bats. The fallen
people will invoke the name of the undead Digimon king. Then, angels will shoot
arrows of Hope and Light at the loved ones they have been sent to protect. And
then a miracle will happen.
Through this miracle, the Mirrored
Fate will change, what was once meant to be is now a distant memory. Chaos. The
hour of the best will approach at the Dendrite Moon, the ecliptic opposite of
the Clay Moon. With courage dead, and friendship broken, the Digimon King will
possess what he hates; his counterpart fighting an endless battle with his
humanity, only to have it stripped away in an instant. At the hour of the
beast, the true Digimon King will be born again, shedding the shell, appearing
in his true form as the beast.
The souls of the second-borns, they who inherit the power, will be
complete. The Digimon King, being half-complete will rein over the Digital
World and the Darkness will swallow the Light. Life, being dead will look upon
the land, his power untamable, will end the existence as we know it.
Evil will have won; the Chosen will have fallen. They who inherited the
powers left purposeless, hollow vessels left for dead. And as their souls are
destroyed, all knowledge of this universe will cease to exist.
Forgotten and obliterated, the
futures of the Mirrored Fates will shatter like a glass halo, the destruction
of both definite. Time as foretold would have no meaning, destiny and the
future as black as the soul of life.
As the Fates alter, that which was supposed to be will occur. Set right
again, the worlds will reconstruct. This time, with evil as it’s ruler. The
goodness of the land now shattered, everything fought for will be lost in vain.
Still plagued to be reborn, the Chosen will be punished by returning to the
life they tried to prevent.
All will be lost. The endless battle between Good and Evil will have
finally finished. The fallen, their souls now empty, will finally die forever.
I finished reading the paper with
a smile. I loved knowing what I did. Not only did this bind me to him, it
ensured that as long as I kept that one annoying brat alive till the Dendrite
Moon, everything will go according to plan. Oh course, at this moment I had to
deal with that other Chosen Child. No
matter really. As soon as the prophecy is completed, Daisuke will have no need,
use, or desire for him.
::Flashback::
“Kallie! Kallie
come here this instant!”a frantic mother cried as she caught up with her
daughter, grabbing her hand tightly. “Don’t go near him Kallie, he’s
evil!”
The young girl with the
glowing amber eyes and the flowing chocolate brown hair looked over at the
shackled boy with the flaming red hair. His deep black eyes containing a deep
sorrow that she understood.
His rather pale face was
painted with bleeding cuts and scabs, bruises and burn marks. Being tortured
and mocked everyday for the last week made you want to disappear.
‘I’ll help you.’ She
promised as she allowed herself to be dragged away by her overprotective
mother.
‘Thank you Kallie.’ The
boy smiled faintly. ‘Be careful. Tell Toki to be careful too.’
‘Isn’t he always?’ she
giggled to herself, causing the other boy to smirk.
“Why are you
laughing Kallie?”her mom asked sharply.
“No reason.”
She lied, smiling innocently. She truly did love having powers that only they
could understand.
::End Flashback::
Ken’s POV
“What
did he say to you?”Joe growled at me, slamming my body into the closet
object, that being the wall. Tears were welled in his eyes, but he refused to
cry. “TELL ME!”
“Get a
hold of yourself Joe!”Miyako screamed, rushing over, attempting to pry
his iron like grip off me. With Izzy just having killed himself, Joe blamed me.
But he let
go, his body trembling like a leaf as he collapsed in the middle of the floor,
sobbing hysterically. I felt a certain empathy for him. I only half understood
why Izzy just did what he did. It wasn’t his turn to die… so why would he kill
himself?
“I’m
sorry Joe.”I muttered, barely audible. I inhaled shakily, still getting
over the utter chaos plowing into my brain. And just when I thought things
couldn’t get any worse.
“Ken,
what did he tell you?”Kari asked weakly. She hadn’t made eye contact with
me since entering the room. A faint anger in he back of my head screamed out to
be heard, but I ignored it.
“He
knew.”I realized suddenly. “He knew!”
“I’m
lost.”Iori stated confused.
“God!
Izzy knew it! He… he knew the order, he knew why, he knew what would
happen!”I explained quickly, suddenly feeling a rush of adrenaline pump
through my body.
Without
even thinking, I ran over to the table filled with scrolls, books and slabs of
cold gray rock. Everything was in a state of chaos, and I could barely find
anything in the mess that was lying in front of me. But my fingers danced over
everything as I pulled and sorted, trying to find what I needed.
“What
are you looking for?”Mimi spoke softly, her voice low and hurt. I
squeezed my eyes shut for a moment, cursing myself for not being able to spare
her this pain. Losing Daisuke to the evil was hard enough, but to actually have
him die… God, I wouldn’t be able to go on.
“Izzy,
right before he died, he told me that it was all the same! That this happened
before! And I know what he was trying to say! I understand this now!”I
exclaimed rather hyperly.
“Then
tell us please.”Matt begged. “What’s going on Ken?”
“This,
all of this, it isn’t real!”I shouted almost forcefully, my brain
overloaded with information. Upon seeing their quizzical faces, I sighed, and
though over what I was going to say. “We, I mean us, the Digidestined, we
aren’t real! Well, we are real as in the sense we exist, but we’re not
human!”
“Are
you saying we’re Digimon or something?”Miyako stepped in.
“No!
Nothing like that! Okay, what are some things humans have? And I mean beyond
the obvious of organs and skin?”
“A
conscience?”Iori added.
“Yes,
and?”
“Feelings?”
“And?”
“Thoughts?”
he finished lamely, not knowing what else.
“All
humans have souls!”I exploded. “None of you have souls!”I
pointed shakily to the newest members of the group. Miyako and Iori looked at
each other dumbfoundedly. “Okay,”I calmed myself “Gennai told
us that we were all reborn. Right?”everyone nodded. “Okay, the new
Digidestined were born, but because Kari saved the originals, they were reborn,
but without their souls!”
“Ken
for the love of God speak English!”Kari shouted in frustration.
“You
two!”I pointed out Iori and Miyako. “You guys with Daisuke were
reborn to replace Tai, Matt, Joe, Izzy, Sora and Mimi! But they were supposed
to die with Apoclamon, and half of their soul was to go to each of you! But
they didn’t die, and you were still reborn, because that’s the Death and
Resurrection! You were all born incomplete and now, as each of the Digidestined
die, you’re getting parts of your soul back!”
“You
mean…”Iori began as he touched his heart, remembering the pain he felt
when Izzy died. His forest green eyes widened with understanding.
“Yes!
Daisuke too! He has half his soul now!”
“Tai…”Matt trailed
off, squeezing his eyes shut. “But what does this all mean? Why
Daisuke?”
“Because
Tasuimon was infatuated with him and his hidden power. She hunted him, parting
him from the group, and when Light wasn’t near Life, she changed him into a
creature like herself.”Gennai sighed loudly, interrupting the
conversation we were having. “I think I should tell you the whole story,
straight from the beginning.”
We all
shuffled wordlessly out of the room, and sat down in a small circle on his vast
lilac carpet. The elder Digimon sat down on a plush amber pillow and looked at
each of us misty-eyed.
“As
you know, the Digidestined have been around for quite some time now. See, the
Digiworld was in a great war against the more fierce and powerful Virus
Digimon. We lost time after time, but good never gave up. Finally, sick of
losing, the elders that guard the four directions of the Digiworld decided to
resort to the human world for assistance.
“They
spent thousands of years going through every single child that entered your
world, praying they would find those that held a power, greater than mere
humans. And then, as soon as they located these children, the Dark Masters
locked them away in a prison of energy. Too weak and beaten to complete their
task, they created me with the last of their energy. My only mission was to
protect you children.
“Izzy
asked me long ago if I was a Digimon, and I replied no, because I held no
attack power and I wasn’t born in a Digi-Egg. But in a sense, I am a Digimon,
because I was born of the most powerful Vaccine alive. Now, my mission was
solely to see that the Chosen Children lived no matter what evil they faced.
You see, the children I had been sent to protect were all in this one small
village called Korin. You now know it as Odiaba. But these children weren’t
normal. They held actual powers that rivaled those of their own Digimon. They
willed themselves to never reveal these powers, but in a freak accident, the
first bearer of Knowledge tried to stop his mother from being struck by his
abusive father. His powers flashed through the house, killing all those inside,
except for himself.
“The
villagers became petrified, and started their own witch hunt, gathering all the
children they could to see if the possessed powers like that of Knowledge.
Knowledge was trapped, locked up and tortured, even though he was only a boy of
ten. But the Chosen had a bond with each other, having these special powers of
theirs and they all gathered one day, trying to free their shackled friend.
“Their
rescue attempt was in vain, because a guard saw them, and they were all
captured. Since they all refused to reveal their powers, the barbaric
inhabitants of Korin decided to drag it out of them. They captured their
families, and did horrific things to them, right in front of their faces.
Valiance’s father ended up getting stabbed with a pitchfork, and Light’s
brother was smashed into a wall so many times, he died of blows to the head.
“All
the children were enraged, and in one sweeping motion killed everyone in the
village, including their parents. Ashamed at what they had done, the children
ran, and stumbled into the Digiworld. Here, their powers remained weakened so
they were given Digimon.”
“I
think I can finish this.”I muttered, inhaling sharply. “Here in the
Digiworld, they fought, using both their natural powers and that of their
Digimon. Defeating evil after evil, they finally met Apoclamon. They weren’t
strong enough, and everyone except the bearers of Light and Hope died. The
Council then took the two children back, and waited patiently for the newer
children to arrive.”
“Absolutely
correct.”Gennai affirmed. “As soon as the new children were born, I
knew my Digidestined were going to die. So that’s why I resorted to the Death
and Resurrection. That entitled the souls of the dead to enter the bodies of
the living. As soon as the new Digidestined were given their souls, they went
off into battle. But there was one person we hadn’t anticipated on, and she
changed the course of history as we knew it.”
“Tasuimon.”
I spat disgustedly.
“Right
again.”He spoke. “Damien, or Daisuke was a very energetic young boy
to say the least. His powers were unfathomable! And Tasuimon saw this
immediately. Watching him over the years, she noticed the growing relationship
between him and Kaleb, the bearer of Light. She grew to despise Light with a
fury unlike anything this world has ever seen.
“One
night, when Kaleb and Damien were apart, she lured him into the woods. There
she permanently killed him in a way. She turned him into a Digimon forever. Her
Life Drain attack was so powerful back then… when she used it against Damien,
all his essence, his very life force was drained from him. Once she had
physically removed all the ‘human’ in him, she injected him with Digimon DNA.
That was the first Jogress Shinka.”
“And
because of that, when he did die he was forever a Digimon… the true Digimon
King.”Kari pouted grimly. “Poor Daisuke.”
“But
the story gets grimmer Digidestined.”Gennai brought us all back to
reality. “Like I said, Light and Life were deeply in love, and Kaleb
didn’t rest until he was by his mate’s side once again. Tasuimon disappeared,
and that’s when they found him, not knowing it was already too late. But since
Damien was around Light, Hope and Honesty, his Virus Digimon side never
surfaced.
“Sadly,
when they all reunited again, Apoclamon decided to attack. Kaleb and Damien
decided that they weren’t going to let the evil destroy the Digiworld, and both
of them used their powers, shooting arrows of energy at him. They both died,
and Apoclamon was left fatally injured. But in one sweeping motion he crushed
Kallie, Teko, Myia and Izac. Thus, the Digidestined finally died. Moments
later, Apoclamon was deleted, turning back into a Digi-Egg.”
“The
end.”Joe muttered sourly.
“Exactly.
But luckily the Death and Resurrection worked and you were all reborn some
years later. Once you died again, you were reborn. This continued for hundreds
of years. Now, you are the Digidestined.”
“And
we’re destined to die.”Iori added in observantly, taking the same tone as
Joe. “Listen, I know that I didn’t live this long only to have my life
stripped away from me by some stupid pattern!”
“That
won’t be happening this time though.”I clarified.
“Yes, what
Ken says is true. Right now, I don’t know what ‘s going to happen to you.
Because of Izzy, you might very will live, or you still might die. Ian was
always the brightest child I ever met.”
“So
now here’s the money shot.”Miyako spoke up. “How do we get Daisuke
back?
“Simple.
Keep the pattern going. But no matter what happens, you must protect Matt from
Tasuimon.”Gennai said. “Her plan is to have Daisuke complete his
transformation this time. She will do anything to keep Light, Hope and Honesty
away from him until the Dendrite Moon. And she will go out of her way to make
sure Matt stays alive.”
Gennai
looked over that the bearer of Friendship, and smiled at the slightly
bewildered look that plagued his handsome face. “Why me?”he asked.
“Because
you are the other half of Daisuke’s soul. If his soul is completed, he turns
into a human, fully this time. But as soon as the Dendrite Moon appears, she
will kill you Matt. Watch your back. But I do believe that you’ll be safe as
long as Joe’s alive.”Gennai spoke swiftly.
“In
other words, I’m going to die, boo-hoo.”Mimi stated sarcastically as she
brushed her long honey colored hair from her puffy eyes.
“To
put it bluntly, yes. But Mimi, you have to understand one thing. You have a
Mirrored Fate. You will never die.”
“I
still don’t understand that Gennai.”I spoke up. “What exactly is a
Mirrored Fated?”
“Long
ago, even before my masters were born, there existed two Digimon that created
the Digiworld. Both were very competitive, and they lived to outdo one another.
One day, they got a little over the top and started to randomly create
universes. By accident, they formed two planets that were exactly the same in
every way possible. When they looked upon their accomplishments, they became
enraged; accusing the other that they stole their idea.
“They
took that very personally and decided to rule these planets of theirs. One was
called the Digiworld, and the other was called Earth. As time went by, they
became grief stricken watching everything they created die before their eyes.
They were Gods in a way, and they never had time’s presence touch upon them,
but the worlds did. So in a desperate plea, they created the Mirrored Fates.
Both of them, together.
“Now,
the idea behind this was that as soon as something they created died, it would
be transported to the opposite Mirrored Fate. If the creature died on the
Mirrored Fate, it would be transported back to the world it first started.
Thousands of years passed, and the Digimon were very pleased with what they were
seeing. But soon, everything became confused and the Digimon themselves
couldn’t tell which world was which anymore.
“But
they didn’t care, because as long as their children were children were safe,
then that was all that mattered. They failed to see that the problems in one
world would also be transported to the other. Jealousy, deceitfulness, hate,
contempt, all feelings that were sent to both worlds. When one child grew up
hating someone, he died hating that someone, and was reborn with the exact same
feelings.
“This
is how all the problems on Earth originated. One single fault multiplied a
million times over. The greatest fault with humans was always their own
ignorance.”The elder Digimon sighed deeply. “Now, the Mirrored Fates
are used to make sure the Digidestined will always be reborn. Tai, Sora and
Izzy are all very much alive now. They’re in the other dimension, awaiting
their souls to be fully reborn.”
That last
bit somewhat eased all the grieving Digidestined as they all relaxed considerably.
I cast a quick glance at Miyako as she shook her head and got up to see how Tk
was doing. When Daisuke hit him, he smashed his jawbone into almost a million
pieces. He wouldn’t be talking for a long while.
“We
have to stop him.”Kari stuttered. “We have to get to Daisuke before
he can fully change. I don’t want to lose him…”
“We
know Kari.”Miyako stepped in smiling comfortingly. “We all miss
him.”
“Listen
closely to me Digidestined.”Gennai moaned. “I was never supposed to
tell you that information. I was supposed to let destiny shape you, not have
you looking over your shoulder every four seconds wondering if your time is
near. But I warn you now. Don’t try to stop your deaths. It will only provoke
great heartache in the future. Tasuimon wants to take over the Earth. Remember
that.”
Within an
instant of him finishing his sentence, he began to fade away. It was like
watching a ghost slowly disappear. He was leaving us now to finish what we
started. I inhaled sharply, gazing at everyone with a clear look of
determination in my piercing violet eyes.
“Let’s
go.”
::Flashback::
“Stop
it! Stop hurting him!”Kallie screamed at the top of her lungs, charging
forward at the burly farmer.
“Demon!”
he hissed, slapping her away with his muscular arm. Hitting the wall with a
definite crack, Kallie cried.
“Mekka!
Get away from him!”Shanna begged, grabbing at her best friends’ hand
tightly, refusing to let go.
“It’s
okay.”She smiled slightly, approaching the torturer. “Please, let
Ian go. He didn’t mean what he did… honestly, he has such a kind soul!”
“Monsters
like you have no souls!”he shouted, grabbing a shovel and raising it
above is head threateningly. He brought it down with an amazing force, but then
just as it was an inch above the pretty young girls head, his body tensioned
up, freezing him on the spot.
“Free
him.”The girl very nearly hissed, holding her hand up to the man’s head.
Her slender fingers brushed past his brow, tickling his flesh slightly.
“What
are you doing to me demon?”he cried.
“Opening
your mind to the truth.”A tall blue haired boy muttered, easily snapping
away at the bindings that held his red-haired love. The boy tumbled out of the
chains, falling gracefully into his companion’s comforting arms.
“Jared.”
He breathed in deeply, inhaling as much of his love’s scent before tumbling
into unconsciousness.
“Mekka,
watch out this time.”Morgan warned, holding firmly onto Teko’s hand. His
eyes briefly wandered over to Toki, the brown haired, brown-eyed vision that
decisively held his heart.
“I
didn’t mean to kill the other one.”She fumed bitterly. Brushing away a
piece of her honey colored hair, she dropped her hand, letting the farmer
collapse onto the floor in a mad fit of convulsions. His eyes turning back in
his head as he began to foam at the mouth. All to suddenly, his body ceased to
move and once again there was silence in the room.
“Oops.”
Toki laughed, gazing at the dead corpse. “Another one bites the
dust.”
::End Flashback::
Gennai’s POV
“Another group bites the
dust.”I sighed deeply, moving over to a far corner in my hollow chamber.
How many times had I witnessed their deaths? Too many. And there was something
so unique about this batch. They each seemed to possess their own souls. Their
spirits as free as birds.
I leaned my
head down into my arm, suppressing the tears that were quickly building up in
my eyes. Why was it that I felt this time it would be different? Why was it
that I thought this group would last forever?
But I had
learnt nothing lasts forever. The Digidestined will always be there no matter
what. But they were supposed to be the group that lasted. They were the ones
that freed the Digital World from oppression! They were the ones the prophecy
spoke of! I knew it was! That particular batch of children was the Chosen
Children.
I cried
openly, rubbing my tiered eyes as my gaze fell upon an ancient book that I had
found long ago in the realms. My hand trailed off the edge of it as I silently
balled my fingers in pure rage.
Snapping
slightly, I grabbed the novel and threw it into the brightly burning fireplace
that adorned a corner of my den. As the red flames licked at the book, I could
feel their presence on my yet again.
“What
do you want?”I snapped, barking the question.
“It’s
finally time Gennai.”The voices clustered together spoke so softly.
“Can’t
you just leave me to my grief?”I demanded, slamming my fist into the
wall.
“It
was decided before their births that they would be the Chosen Gennai. It was
their Destiny to become Digidestined. Nothing you can do will change that fact.
They willingly can here to partake in this quest, and they knew of the
consequences straight from the beginning.”
“Get
out!”I hollered. “Get out this instant!”
“Gennai,
there is another. He who inherits the powers… he is alone and they know of him.
Be on guard old friend.”The voices suddenly stopped talking in unison
and parted. Twelve smiling children stood in front of me, grinning sheepishly.
“We cannot stop the evil
from being reborn. We ever have been. But right now, we can suppress it.
Gennai, take care of him for me. I love him still.”My eyes literally
dripped with tears as they all approached me. My heart shoved in my throat as I
cried, gathering them all in my arms.
“Why have you come?”my
voice was hoarse and cracked from the raw emotion that was pouring from my
heart.
“You know why. You said
it yourself. The Digidestined never die. No matter how many years have passed,
we all serve our purpose. This is the Prophecy of the Chosen. The time for it
is quickly approaching. You knew since the day they were configured it would
come down to this.”
“So soon?”I mused,
looking at each of them quizzically.
“They are the
Untouchables Gennai.”
At that statement, my knees began
to quiver, and gave out from under me. I hit the ground, panting hard, my eyes
welled with tears. “God no…”I sobbed.
“ From the past until
completion, the Digidestined will survive. That which was plaguing each child
will vanish; their mission now vanquished. Never to live again, their souls
will remain human, untouched and pure. But as it has been foretold, there is
only perfection and purity for humans in one place
.”
“ Death
…”
::Flashback::
“Morgan!”Toki bellowed shrilly, lunging for his love’s hand.
“Be gone demon! Oni wa sotu!”a raving man hissed, levitating
his axe.
“NO!”Toki screamed again, clutching at his broken leg as he
tried desperately to get to his mate’s side. But the boy had to watch in horror
as the blade swished down, heading straight for Morgan’s head. “NO!”
All of a sudden, he felt himself glowing. A bright orange light
surrounded him, filling him with a power he could feel coursing through his
veins. Instantly, his eyes fixated on the man who was now paralyzed with fear.
In one deafening motion, Toki appeared near the man’s head, and snatched his
neck possessively.
Squeezing tightly, the crunching of bone was heard echoing through the
countryside for hours. Blood pooled out around his hand, covering him with the
hot, stick red liquid. Throwing the limp corpse on the ground, Toki smiled
lovingly at Morgan.
The battles around them raged on; each child having to deal with their
own problems. But in an instant, they all stopped to look at Toki. Their eyes
all glowing their respective colors, they glared at the villagers.
“The devil!”a woman screeched. But all the children
gathered, holding their hands to form a barrier around them. Each was injured,
bloody or bruised. But welling up the power within each other, they created
eight small crests, each holding unfathomable power. Instantly, these crests
disappeared, leaving behind an eerie glow that illuminated the haunting night.
The glow from each of the children seemed to grow, as there hair began
to float up in the sky, their auras becoming unbearable. “Stop this evil
please.”Kallie whimpered.
An evil smirk tugged at Ian’s lips as he held up his hand, the others
following in pursuit. “It all ends
tonight.”He whispered mischievously as he broke the circle. His
mystical lavender blaze suddenly flaring up around him.
All at once, the children broke apart, raising their hands to the sky.
They all screamed a noise that was so piercing, it shattered every eardrum in
the village, causing every inhabitant to fall to the ground, clutching at their
throbbing heads.
But in one sweeping motion, their lights erupted. The glows blanketing
the village of Korin completely. As human flesh touched this light, it
dissolved right off their bones, leaving smoldering skeletons where people
should have been.
The children all collapsed in a pile, each breathing heavily. As soon
as the realization of what they had just accomplished started to weep. Not for
the lost souls that were now burning up into ash, but because of the fact they
had given into the evil that plagued their spirits from the moment they were
born.
