Dinah crosses over as her Empty Nest character Carol Weston in two episodes of The Golden Girls. In the first one, a hurricane is sweeping Miami. At the girls' house Dorothy Zbornak finds that her ex-husband Stan has slept with her sister. So Stan calls up his psychiatrist to come over and straighten things out. He arrives with Carol. The two had been on a date when Stan called. Dorothy isn't glad to see Carol, since the problem at hand is rather personal. Carol tells her that Richard (the psychiatrist) tells her about all of his cases, but makes up "wild and crazy names" for the patients so as to not reveal their identities. Carol soon realizes though, that Stan and Dorothy are "Dan" and "Morothy." How's that for wild and crazy names?
In her next appearance, Carol drops by the girls' house while they are hosting a moonlight madness party. The full moon has the city out of whack. At the party, Blanche (normally the center of attention) cannot get one man to hit on her, while Dorothy and Carol (who both rarely get dates) can't keep the men off of them. Meanwhile, Sophia, who is trying to break a curse by completing three tasks, one of which is to reveal betrayal by a loved one, tells Carol that her sister Barbara was responsible for "that awful thing" that happened and Carol should get revenge. Carol then storms out, vowing to make Barbara pay. Barbara comes over later and asks Sophia why she made that story up. Sophia then makes Barbara believe the same thing about Carol. This time it's Barbara who storms out vowing revenge on Carol.
