| So far we have 7 chicks this year, from two nesting females. They both are nesting again, Dotty has 7 eggs and all are fertile , but I am not sure that the last one is yet (I'ts too soon to tell) The other female has one egg and dosent seem to be laying any more. | To tell if an egg is fertile, after 10 days hold it up to a flashlight . If it is dark , it is fertile , if the light shines right through, then it is a clear egg and not fertile. |
