My name is David Mead, I'm an Aussie, a network support officer by trade, and a aviation enthusiast by nature. Being inspired by the works of others and empowered by the ingenious tools placed at my disposal by their tireless efforts, I have beavered away at FS2002, and now FS2004, as many of us do to make it better. Most of my projects are small things. The odd aircraft repaint, some AI traffic (available at Project AI), combinations of add-ons and textures by others. Nothing particularly involved. I've also been a pilot for Mountain Air for a while now, their style, operations and destinations appealed to me. But as new airport scenery has slowly trickled onto my hard drive, I've found myself disenchanted with the default airports. Not only that, but finding custom scenery for the regional destinations that I fly to has been high on impossible. I guess there's too many possibilities and not enough demand for any particular one. This compelled be to follow my usual course: If no one else is gonna do it, then I'll have to take care of business myself. So I threw myself onto the steep learning curve (did I mention it was steep) to scenery design. Now I'm no expert, and the community still seems to be coming to grips with the new methodologies for FS2002, so I've probably ended up with a bit of a hybrid, but it works for now. Seeing as the motivation for this expenditure of time and effort has been to improve my VA flying, then my fellow Mountain Air pilots will be the key beneficiaries as my choice of subjects will be taken from the Mountain Air timetable. Since my virtual life if based in Denver, I've focused on Colorado and Wyoming airports at first, moving onto other states by request I think. Let's hope I generate enough interest in my work to keep me motivated for the long haul. Happy flying, Dave (MTN374). |
