The Engine - 427W

Not actual Engine.. but a 427 stroker pictured

There have been many plans with the engine since June 02' when I bought this thing. Originally the 375$ beater was going to be just that with some repairs, of course for a beater this mildly underpowered 5.0 still would not be bad for running around in.. great on gas for a V8 good mid - high torque range.. but it was not enough, this car would be good for anywhere in the 16 second quarter mile range.. an average time by modern cars but not bad for a underpowered car thats considered "large" so I opted for a "H.O" conversion, Just changing the heads, cam and intake, would be enough to boost me to police interceptor specs, and usually any Fox Mustang guy is more than happy to part with his stock engine parts.. going to aftermarket.. So then I figured why shouldn't I get aftermarket ? so the plans changed again.. I then looked into Trickflow heads, cam, and intake, bigger injectors.. M.A.F.. mustang computer.. Should have been enough to put me in the 300 plus horsepower range.. not too shabby... So the longer this project drew on with me doing the body work the plan's yet grew again.. hoping these are final ( but they only get better ) I know have decided to pull the engine, then for a while i wanted a stroked 302 - 331... but now Ive decided to go with the king kong of small blocks the 427 cubic inch stroker out of a 351 windsor..

427 stroker V8

The 427 c.i stroker.. As most people in the ford world know the 408 stroker is a popular combo from the windsor.. but why not go the extra 19 c.i? to get some classic numbers and an easy 5 - 600 horsepower and torque.. ? so now my quest continues to find a 69 - 74 351W block as i am not made out of the kind of money that people who have kit cobras to buy dart blocks and keith craft setups... i'll take my chances poor rod ratio or not.. : )

Power (est.)

using this combo with some AFR 185cc heads ( 2.20 in. - 1.60 ex. ) or some T.F.S R series heads a decent setup all around is close to 550 - 650 horsepower and equal torque.. naturally aspirated - meaning all motor without use of forced induction or spray.. its actually scary
