GENERAL
MACROVISION FREE TIPS
Below
are some general tips on making your system Macrovision-free
and/or prevent Macrovision from becoming a problem :
Ripped
VOB Files Some software/hardware players have option to turn
off Macrovision during DVD playback, but once the DVD is ripped
to your hard-drive, the Macrovision protection code is ripped
along with it, and the Macrovision-removal tips listed below
may not work on these files. This is where the DeMacrovision
1.0 software comes in. It can remove the Macrovision code
from all ripped .vob files.
Soft-Cinemaster
98 The 1.0.28 (original or modified) version of the soft-Cinemaster
decoders is macrovision-free. Specifically designed for use
with the ATI DVD Player. You can download the needed player
and decoder files from the soft-Cinemaster
Download Center
Connect
straight to TV Macrovision, in it's normal use, should not
prevent normal playback. But it assumes that you have the
DVD output connected straight to your TV, instead of through
another device like a VCR. If connected to another device,
like a VCR, playback will be distorted.

I have a tip to get rid of the macrovision protection,
it only works (for now) with the matrox dvd player:
go to display properties, advanced, dualhead and check
both clone and dvd max while playing a dvd uncheck or
check (at least change it) the keep optimal refresh
rate in the clone section and there you go. Note it
must be done while the dvd is playing or paused if you
for example go to another scene it must be done again
