and look in the court house in Florence. I found deeds of land to
the heirs of Benjamin Davis, deceased: W.C. Davis, Abner C. Davis, Ann
A., Polly and Alvira. One of the deeds is to 25 acres, a deed of
conveyance from Reuben and Temperance Davis to the five heirs. It
is dated May 6, 1836. Then on November 20, 1836, there is a deed
of conveyance from William C. Davis, one of the heirs of Abner C. Davis,
deceased and Benjamin Davis, deceased and his wife Hetty F. to Jacob Byler........
to an undivided 1/4 of the right that Abner C. Davis had to the 25 acres.
Abner C. was killed in the battle of San Jacinto and his heirs were given
land in Texas in the 1850's." Both "Jane" and her husband William Howard
Lucas, Jr. graduated from the University of Texas in 1950. They raise

Robbie has worked at ABF Freight System since
May, 1966. He took time off from 1987 to 1989 to attend the School
of Preaching at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. We then moved
from Beebe to Redfield, Arkansas where he preached full-time for the Church
of Christ there and went back to work full time as a diesel mechanic.
We moved back to Beebe in 1992 and he preaches part-time in this area -
when some fulltime preacher needs to be gone on a Sunday. He still
works fulltime at ABF and will soon be able to retire with 30 years completed.
We married September 3, 1996 and lived in North
Little Rock until November 1973 when we moved to Beebe. We married
at a friend's house in Cow Lake, Arkansas.
We have 2 daughters: (1) Lara Leigh, born August
6, 1968 in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Lara married Perry
Danny Parrish on November 18, 1988 at Beebe, Arkansas. Lara and Danny
live at Morrilton, Arkansas where they serve as House Parents to 7 teen-age
girls at the Southern Christian Home. Danny is also the Activity
Director for the Home. Danny graduated from Harding University in
Searcy, Arkansas with a degree in Bible and Missions. He has preached in
different towns in Arkansas and in Toddville, Iowa. Lara attended
Freed-Hardman in Tennessee and Harding University. She only needs
a few hours to have an Elementary Education degree. Lara and Danny
have 3 daughters, Danalea Joy Parrish-born August 31, 1990 in Searcy, White
County, Arkansas; Jenalyn Anna Parrish-born May 6, 1992 in Iowa City, Iowa
and Abigail Hope Parrish-born September 20, 1995 in North Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas.

Moody: Respected businessman John A. Moody, age 67, died Wednesday,
January 21, 1998, after an extended battle with lung cancer. He was
born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 19, 1931. He moved to
Pierce County in 1957 and began building homes in the early 1960's.
John developed Forest Green, the first Planned Unit Development in the
area, and was the owner of one of the first computers in the region. In
1970, he was elected President of the Tacoma Home Builders Association
and also served on the board of directors.
During the 1970's he was one of the largest builders
in the Pierce County area. He started several businesses, including
Meridian Center Electric, Meridian Plumbing, and Canyon Construction &
Realty. In addition to his honesty, integrity and hard work, John
will be remembered as the person who provided the opportunity and inspiration
for many successful careers in the building industry.
He is survived by his mother, Adgie Reynolds; his children,
Lloyd Moody, Tim Stephens, Rick Moody, Lori Stephens, Cherokee Merz; his
brothers, Tom and Clark Moody; as well as numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren.

Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 3:00 pm
at Powers Funeral Home, 320 W. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup, (Washington).

Brenda Kay Landers Dibble, 38, of Parris was born May
30, 1960, in Paris. On Nov. 17, 1998, in East Texas Medical Center
in Tyler, our precious and loving sister "Kay" was escorted by angels to
be with her Lord and Savior.
She left this world for eternal peace and happiness.
She was kind and gentle and always eager to lend a helping hand especially
to her nieces and nephews who spent many hours with her. She was
truly their best friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew
and loved her.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Fry-Gibbs
Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Clark, Gary Landers and the Rev. Ray Evers
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Visitation
will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born to Bennie Ray and Martha Jo Spangler Landers.
She graduated from North Lamar High School in 1978, attended Pathway Church
of God, and was a homemaker. She married Michael Frank Dibble Nov.
3, 1978, in Sherman.
Her unwavering commitment to family who were the recipients
of her fierce love and unselfish devotion are her husband Mike; the love
of her life, her son, Michael Ray Dibble of Paris, and the following brothers
and sisters: Fred Landers of Fort Worth, Larry Spangler of Detroit,
Jerry Spangler of Powderly, Dean Landers of Paris, Gary Landers of Shreveport,
LA,; Bennie Landers of Paris, Nell Hull of Paradise, Glenda Fulton of Emmitt,
Ark., and Dorothy Fisher of Yantis. She was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother, Kenneth Ray Landers.

Oklahoma. She was a kindergarten teacher at Bristow, Oklahoma.
The following account came from a family member: "A car theft ring
had been operating in that area and Don witnessed a crime in which one
of the car theives had a part. Don had been subpoened to testify
against him. On the morning of 2 Feb 1971, Don went to work in Fern's
car. When Fern started to work, she stepped on the starter and the
car exploded. It had been wired with explosives to kill Don to destroy
his testimony. Rex Brinley was sentenced for her murder. He
was the man who, later, led several major riots and escapes at Oklahoma
Penitentiary at McAlester, Oklahoma where he is serving his time."
