Rosemary Davies in Wenatchee on November 6, 1942, where they remained to
raise their family.

Mr. Landers was born September 25, 1909, in Lamar County, a son
of the late Joseph Sim Landers and Maude Evaline Sims. He married Martha
Jo Spangler on February 16, 1955, in Hugo, Oklahoma. He had lived all his
life in Lamar County and was a plumber. He was a veteran of World War II,
having served in the United States Army. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Paris; four sons, Fred Wayne Landers
of Fort Worth, and Danny Landers, Gary Landers and Bennie Landers, all
of Paris; two step sons, Larry and Jerry Spangler, both of Paris; three
daughters, Mrs. Don (Inell) Hull of Irving, Mrs Kenneth (Dorothy) Hughes
of Paris and Miss Brenda Landers, also of Paris; three step-daughters,
Mrs. Jim (Glenda) Cunny of Paris, Mrs Merl Johnson and Mrs. Billie Jean

She was born to Joseph Sim and Maude Evaline (Sims) Landers
March 17, 1915, in Noble, Texas. She lived a full life giving herself
unselfishly to her family.
She retired from Globe Ticket Company. She was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Her sense of humor will be missed but not forgotten by
all who loved her, especially her daughter and son-in-law Delores and John
Murchison, and her grandson, Martin James Murchison, of Bellflower.
She also is survived by her nieces and nephews, Fred Wayne Landers of Fort
Worth, Danny Landers, Larry Spangler, Jerry Spangler of Paris, Gary Landers
and Bennie Landers of Shreveport, La., Dorothy Fisher of Yantis, Texas;
Nell Hull of Paradise; Brenda Dibble of Paris and Glenda Fulton of Emmett,
Arkansas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 1998,
at the Lighthouse Family Church in Paris, with Gary Landers officiating.
Her ashes will be placed with her husband in Fulbright Cemetery following
the service.

local hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Independence County and
was an employee of ConAgra foods for 40 years and was manager of the Batesville
feed mill. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Desha and
the Desha Veterans of Forign Wars. He was a 32nd-degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Byler;
a daughter, Cindy Garrett of Batesville; a granddaughter, Lacey Amanda
Garrett; a son, Gregory Jay Byler of Desha; a sister, Gale Byler Heinrich
of Concord; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2
p.m. Tuesday at the Desha Baptist Church with Forrest Bynum and Keith Sandefur
officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery under the direction
of Batesville Funeral Service. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers are Carl Shaver, Brent Farris,
Roger Hooper, Rick Davis, K.D. Smith, Tate Lawrence, John Wilbanks, Dan
Moody, Keith Harmon and Shorty Coles.

J.B. Byler
1931 - 1994
The loyalty and dedication J.B. Byler
had for his family, his country, his church, his community, and his company
are without question. J.B. served his country during the Korean war.
He was a devoted family man and his love for God was openly expressed by
his active participation in the Desha First Baptist Church where he served
as choir director and on numerous committees.
J.B. also served on the Desha School
Board and the Desha Fire Department. He was a 32nd degree mason and
an active VFW member.
J.B. dedicated the past 40 years of
his life to the growth and success of ConAgra Frozen Foods. Upon
his release from the U.S. Army, J.B. began what would be a 40 year career
with the J.K. Southerland Company, predecessor to ConAgra Frozen Foods.
Early on, J.B. utilized his truck driving skills acquired during his Army
career, hauling chickens and feed.
As the company grew, so did J.B.'s responsibilities.
For the past 30 years, J.B. was the manager of ConAgra's Batesville Feed
Mill. He took his responsibilities seriously and devoted his energies
to every aspect of his operation. The contributions he made to ConAgra
are immeasurable and for this we are sincerely grateful.
We will greatly miss his presence but
will forever cherish his memory.

Jimmy Dale Byler, son of the late Shelby and Vera (Smith)
Byler was born May 2, 1935, in Knob Creek. He died February 24, 1996,
in Melbourne. He was 60.
Mr. Byler was a member of the Melbourne Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy of the home; three daughters,
Barbara Wilson of Calico Rock; Connie Byler and Shelia Tate of Melbourne;
one son, Dale Byler of Melbourne; one sister, Arline Smith of Batesville;
and five grandchildren.
Services were held February 27 at the Howard Chapel in
Melbourne with Brother Chuck Crow and Brother Ralph Wallis officiating.
Pallbearers were Carl Cooper, Lonnie Cooper, R.J. Blankenship,
Steve Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Gerald Blevins, and George Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Taylor and Edla Morehead.
Interment was at Knob Creek Cemetery under the direction

The following from "Jacob Byler of North Carolina" by
Roger L. Byler, p 220: "Mrs. Colleary wrote to Roger Byler, 'I lived with
my mother (who never remarried and lives with us today) and spent a lot
of time with my dear grandmother Evans. Dad's sister Ethel was divorced
at the time and had a son a little older than me so the four of us shared
a house in Jacksonville, Florida until I finished school.' She said
she never earned a degree, but took courses in business and accounting
in seven schools. Her husband finished one semester at Fordham while
in the Army. The war ended and he switched from Army to Navy - spent
one year in Naval Academy Prep School, then went to Naval Academy, graduating
in 1950. He earned the aviation wings. Then, he went to Naval Aeronautical
Engeneering. From there, he went to MIT in Boston for the Masters
in Aeronautical Engeneering. After 20 years commissioned service,
he retired in 1970 to a 135 acre farm in Maryland 70 miles from Washington,
D.C. where they raise cattle, have a variety of small animals and a number
of fruit trees. He went to George Washington University and got a
Masters in Secondary Education. He teaches high school math to Seniors,
is Assistant Principal and teaches night classes at the Community College.
She has written to me several times giving me data on the family. She opened
an office supply store in 1980 in Leonardtown and plans to open another
in Lexington Park in 1984."
