Since registration, I've had this obsession with living in the honors dorm. Sure, things weren't too bad down in old Barnes-Campbell. It was loud and disgusting, but it wasn't exactly like living in a maximum security prison, either. When we learned about the possibility for a room change, however, all bets were off.
Alan and I then began the great bid for a spare room in good old Rodes-Harlin. After much struggle and worry, we were rewarded with a place on the 7th floor. It took some time and effort to get moved in, but we've finally gotten all of our stuff over here and semi-settled in. That's awesome.
Here are a few random shots of Casa d'Awesome:
Well, well, well, what have we here?
Sandy Claws, huh?
Oh, I'm really scared
So you're the one everybody's talkin' about, ha, ha
You're jokin', you're jokin'
I can't believe my eyes
You're jokin me, you gotta be
This can't be the right guy
He's ancient, he's ugly
I don't know which is worse
I might just split a seam now
If I don't die laughing first
When Mr. Oogie Boogie says
There's trouble close at hand
You'd better pay attention now
'Cause I'm the Boogie Man
And if you aren't shakin'
Then something's very wrong
'Cause this may be the last time
You hear the boogie song, ohhh
Ohhh (Ohhh)
Ohhh (Ohhh)
Ohhh, he's the Oogie Boogie Man
Well if I'm feelin' antsy
And there's nothin' much to do
I might just cook a special batch
Of snake and spider stew
And don't ya know one thing
That would make it work so nice?
A roly-poly Sandy Claws to add a little spice
Ohhh (Ohhh)
Ohhh (Ohhh)
Ohhh (Ohhh)
Yeah, I'm the Oogie Boogie Man
Release me now
Or you must face the dire consequences
The children are expexting me
So please come, to your senses
You're jokin', you're jokin'
I can't believe my ears
Would someone shut this fella up
I'm drownin' in my tears
It's funny, I'm laughing
You really are too much
And now, with your permission
I'm going to do my stuff
What are you going to do?
I'm gonna do the best I can
Oh, the sound of rollin' dice
To me is music in the air
'Cause I'm a gamblin' Boogie Man
Although I don't play fair
It's much more fun, I must confess
When lives are on the line
Not mine, of course, but yours, old boy
Now that'd be just fine
Release me fast or you will have to
Answer for this heinous act
Oh, brother, you're something
You put me in a spin
You aren't comprehending
The position
That you're in
It's hopeless, you're finished
You haven't got a prayer
'Cause I'm Mr. Oogie Boogie
And you ain't going nowhere
A lot of the jokes are geeky in nature and require some understanding of Megaman to get a lot of the jokes. Since the Megaman series and I maintain a twisted love-hate relationship, I've come to appreciate the creator's enlightened observations and critical commentary of both storyline and gameplay. In other words - I think it's funny, but you might not.
But regardless of your opinion on Megaman, I know for a fact that you love me. Who doesn't? I also know that a lot of other people share Dave's love of stealing Megaman characters and arranging them in comical situations and tend to do so quite often. Perhaps these fans are properly liscensed to do so, but I'm going to assume everyone's allowed to rip him off six ways to Sunday.
That said, I've created the first in what I hope will be a long line of subpar sprite comics. I realize it's doomed already since I've started out with an inside joke from the old Bob and George archives, but in time it should pick up its own brand of funny. Without further ado, I give you Pandamonianzia! : The Almost Comic.

I've just returned from a break in ye old Birmingham, and boy have I got news for you! Mp3.com has finally approved the greatest artists on the face of the planet. Be the first kid on your block to hear the mismatched electronic beats of Impulse-Momentum Principle (featuring Newton's 2nd Law) on their hit new single, "Ballistic Pendulum".
Believe you me, the rhythm doesn't stop there. I have it on good faith that new material is coming even as we speak, including a possible rap tribute to J. Robert Oppenheimer. You don't want to miss out.
So get on the ground floor of these rising titans of bad techno and download, chumps.
