So, Dots you say?

As you now know this is the game which was first played in Coleraine town library that memorable day. It was played in the library for two years after that, at least once every other school day. In the September of 1999 the game moved to another location. None other than that of “Moores” of Coleraine. Wednesday was to become the official dot playing game and with this the games first fan, Cocky’s lady Genna. She didn’t really understand much about the game but she gets 10 out of 10 trying.

Anyway, that’s a brief history of the game, now to some of the finer details for those of you who have never played or witnessed the game. Or for those of you who have saw the game but still cannot seem to understand it, (Laura and Alison, I’m looking at you here).

Dots consists of a 10 dots X 11 dots grid. Not a 10 square by eleven square grid as the present champion once thought. Below is a typical grid which I will allow you to copy and paste onto your own computer and then print it out when you want to play. Generous? I think so.

Alas I cannot reveal the mystery of “the Trick” because this must be discovered and implemented by you so that you may make the cross from amateur to professional.

So, that’s it for Original dots. Apart from these last few dotty facts.

1.      The game turned world championship level in late 1998.

2.    The title of world dotty champion was first held by Kyle H. Nutt Esq.

3.    The present champion is Dijon Harte.
