An extremely endangered species. This one is a mascot at a resort in Drake Bay and is most likely unable to fly. In any case he/she is isolated from other macaws and will never produce offspring. It is difficult to reintroduce captive wildlfe once they are accustomed to humans. Apparently there are more captive Scarlet Macaws in Miami than there are wild ones in Costa Rica.
