This species is endangered due to habitat loss, poaching and illegally keeping them as pets. This monkey is the mascot at a resort in Drake Bay, and although he is free to roam, he is essentially removed from the breeding population.
These little bandits barricaded the road and demanded all of our edibles. There were about 12 in the group and when they realized I wasn't offering snacks, they quickly went back to digging for grubs.
