Level 1 - Mumbo's Mountain
Quick Analysis
This first level plays more like a tutorial. It'll be very easy to stay alive and find all 100 notes. The only easily missed item is a honeycomb piece that requires careful thought to retrieve.

Where's the Mole?
1. Just north of Mumbo's hut. He teaches the Beak Buster (press Z while in the air).
2. In the northwest corner. He teaches the front and rear Egg Shoot (press Z, then press Up-C to shoot forward or Down-C to shoot backward).
3. In the northeast area near the puzzle piece. He teaches the Talon Trot (press Z, then press Up-C)
Easy Jigsaw Pieces
See the map for a more precise look at the Jigsaw pieces' locations.
- Near Talon Trot - It's in plain view in the level's northeast area, on a stone platform.
- Help Little Monkey - A little monkey in the northwest area of the level is screaming for an orange. Give him the hookup! Climb the tree the big ape's on and grab one of his oranges. Run back and feed the monkey.
- Ape's Orange Blocks - Have the ape throw oranges at the three orange square blocks below him. Stand on the square, then move away at the last second when the ape throws the orange.
- Shoot the Ape - After learning the Egg Shoot, go to the tree stump platform nearby and shoot the ape with eggs.
- Mumbo's Eye - Use the Super Jump in front of the right eye at Mumbo's hut.
- Shoot the Pole - Look for a spinning totem pole up the steep slope in the southeast. Shoot eggs into each mouth to destroy it. But before shooting the last section jump on it and grab the Honeycomb Piece.
- Climb Termite Nest - Turn into a termite and visit the termite nest. Climb to the top.
- Destroy the Huts - Use the Beak Buster to stomp down the six huts surrounding the totem pole.
- Climb Steep Slope - Using the Talon Trot, run up the side of the slope to the right at the start of the level.
- Jinjos - All the Jinjos are in plain view except for the green one, which is hidden under one of the six huts to stomp on.
The 5 Jinjo's
There are 5 Jinjo's to rescue in each level. If you collect all of them you'll be rewarded with a Jigsaw piece and later on ...
Blue Jinjo - On a island in the pond, near the rope bridge ... easy.
Green Jinjo - In a smashed hut near Mumbo's hut.
Pink Jinjo - On a ledge on the steep slope at the start.
Orange Jinjo - On top of the monument.
Yellow Jinjo - On a ledge on the steep slope near the monument.
Honeycomb Pieces
First - Turn into a termite, then climb the mountain slope west of the termite hill. It's in an alcove.
Second - Remember the stone totem pole that needs to be destroyed for a puzzle piece? Before destroying the last part of the pole, jump on top. Jump straight up to get the honeycomb.
100 Music Notes
There are 100 Musical Notes scattered around every level throughout the game. These notes are the key to breaking the spells on the note doors that you will find in Gruntilda's Lair. Listed below are the locations off all the notes hidden on Mumbo's Mountain.
7 Notes - On the bridge across the small pond.
6 Notes - Hidden in the two alcoves under water in the pond.
9 Notes - On the path leading up to the Termite Tower.
4 Notes - On the hill leading up to the monument (where you learned the Talon Trot).
6 Notes - On top of the huts near Mumbo's hut.
5 Notes - Inside one of the stomped huts.
4 Notes - Inside Mumbo's hut.
6 Notes - On the first floor of Termite Tower.
14 Notes - On top of the monument.
21 Notes - On the steep slope near the monument.
18 Notes - On the steep slope near the start point.
The Mumbo Tokens
Before you are able to use Mumbo Jumo's magic, you must collect all of the tokens scattered around the level. When you have collected all five tokens, enter Mumbo's hut, stand on the skull, and press B to activate the powerfull spell.
Token 1 - At the bottom of the slope near the start point.
Token 2 - On the raised platform to the left of Chimpies step (where you learned how to shoot eggs).
Token 3 - Behind the monument.
Token 4 - On the lower level of Termite Tower.
Token 5 - Underneath the steps to Mumbo's hut.
Gruntilda Stomp Switch
After you visit the mole in the northwest corner, jump left on some raised platforms. The switch is at the end.
