This was so typically him!
So typically Angel!
Lindsey couldn't remember the last time he'd been so enraged.
Why couldn't they settle things now - get it all out of their systems and be over and done with it?
Alright, maybe he was tired and maybe he needed a moment or two to adjust, but this was important and important things shouldn't simply be put on hold because of some overrated necessity like sleep.
Couldn't he see that?
Obviously not, because if so, Lindsey wouldn't be tossing and turning and getting all tangled up in the sheets of William's bed, Angel had shipped him off to.
WILLIAM'S BED - this god-damned vampire didn't have one ounce of empathy!
Anyway, who was this William-twit and why was he acting all batty and weird?
Lindsey sighed and bit back a wave of jealousy. He so did not want to think about William right now - William sleeping in Angel's bed, William sleeping in Angel's arms, William sleeping with Angel... Why would he envy William because of the open affection shining from Angel's eyes every time the dark-haired vampire looked at the fruitcake?
Angry with himself, Lindsey rolled to his back and jumped in surprise, when seconds later the door cracked open and William - security blanket firmly in hand - drowsily entered his bedroom.
"Buffy, luv..."
Ignoring the other man's squeal of surprise, William padded across the room and joined a positively perplex Lindsey under the blankets.
With a content little sigh he then wrapped himself around his stunned bedfellow and spooned himself to his side burying his face in the curve of his neck.
"William?"
The former lawyer carefully nudged his unwelcome visitor in the back - with no visible success, since the vampire's only reply was a steady, low purr and a very tender kiss to his neck.
"Imgladyourebackluv..."
Lindsey couldn't say why the gentle embrace all of a sudden didn't bother him any longer. One sleepy sentence and things no longer felt awkward and strange but somewhat comfortable and right.
"Sleep now," he whispered and nuzzled his face in the vampire's soft curls and obviously that was all the invitation William needed.
For a few brief seconds his hold on Lindsey tightened before he relaxed and fell into a deep nightmare-free sleep.

"Lindsey?"
A pair of unmistakably amused eyes were the first thing to cross his line of sight, when Lindsey let gaze roam the room for the obnoxious intruder.
"Riley?"
"In the flesh!" The boy's pink lips curled into a friendly smile when he reached out to ruffle William's unruly brown locks. "May I ask you why you're in bed with the Big Bad?"
Although sound asleep, the vampire immediately pulled back, trying to hide behind mortal's slight frame.
"What's the matter with him?" Lindsey curiously inquired.
The other man's smile disappeared.
"He's been like this, ever since..." His voice trailed of and once again Lindsey felt rather left out and in the dark.
"So he hasn't talked to you yet," Riley stated matter of factly, sensing Lindsey growing irritation. "Buffy - the slayer..."
All of a sudden it all made sense and everything fell into place.
"The slayer, " he picked up the dangling ending of the blond man's sentence. "She's dead."
***
"Yes, Buffy is dead."
Angel's grave voice made their heads snap towards around.
"Angel!" Riley acknowledged the vampire's presence with a quick wink and an even quicker nod. "Bed bugs got your lazy bum?"
The dark-haired man shot him an indulgent look before he launched himself at his unprepared victim and using his vampire strength and speed to pin him to the floor and hold on to his wrist with one hand while letting the other hand dance across his ribs.
"Not fair," Riley yelped in between giggles, greedily gasping for air.
The vampire laughed and let go.
"I know, but so much fun!"
The blond boy shot him a good-natured smile.
"You wanna watch it, Angel my man, payback's a bitch!"
With this he used his newly reclaimed freedom to make a mad dash for the dark-haired man's carefully styled locks, however, knowing his precious hairdo wasn't in serious danger, Angel simply swatted the cheeky tanned hand.
Lindsey on the other side hardly believed his eyes.
His gaze traveled from Angel to Riley, only to repeat the very action another ten times. This wasn't the Angel he knew! His Angel was dark and broody and wouldn't allow anybody to invade his personal space - let alone laugh or tease or roll on the floor with his co-workers or friends.
"Riley," sensing Lindsey's growing distress Angel quickly addressed the blond goof grinning at him from where he'd popped down on the floor. "Would you mind to sit here with Will, while Lindsey and I have a bit of a talk?"
***
That was ten minutes ago.
Because that's how long it had taken them to remove an amazingly clingy William who quite literally had wrapped himself around the brunette's slim waist.
Although never waking from his dead-sleep the vampire was getting all panicky and worked up the moment Angel reached to remove the skinny, pale figure desperately clinging to his somewhat reluctant bedfellow.
In the end Angel had requested Riley to fetch Dawn, since up to last night it had been her company and bed William used to seek out.
Could his life possibly get any weirder?
Biting his tongue in order to restrain himself from nervous babbling, Lindsey let his index finger gingerly trail along William's slim fingers and hand. His action was rewarded with a steady, deep purr. His head shot up startled gray eyes drilling into smirking brown.
"Lindsey, Lindsey," the other man chuckled. "What is it with you and me kin?"
