You decide to pay a visit to Elyxyr. You sit down again, and slide along her path by pushing your hands. It's a good method of transportation, as well as rather fun.
You stand up and walk as best you can when you bump into a hard glacier. Your hands search desperately for holds on the slippery surfaces of the glaciers, until you reach a snowy field. With relief, you step onto solid ground.
The snow crunches under your feet as you walk, searching for some sign of Elyxyr. Soon, you find what you are looking for. Surrounded by a few evergreen trees, there lies a magnificent equine creature.
The white being rises to its pale blue hooves, and trots over to stand a few feet in front of you. It whinnies softly, tosses its horned head, and flicks its tufted tail before speaking.
"Greetings, brave traveler," the equine says. "I am Elyxyr. Do you come exploring Dracogrex?"
"Er, yes," you say, pointing to your grey suit.
"I surmised as much," Elyxyr says thoughtfully, sitting down on her haunches. "I suppose you'd like to learn just what I am?"
You nod, to the amusement of the horse.
"Well," she says cooly, "I am what is called a Crystacorn. I come from Trialle, where my kind was hunted to near extinction by humans. Amaryllis saved my mother's life, returning to her the horn that had been stolen from her very forhead. In return, my sisters and I returned to Dracogrex with her, and she has given us all good homes in which to be safe."
"That's wonderful," you say earnestly. "Do you enjoy it here in the Ice Realm? I would think that you'd get cold with so little fur."
Elyxyr shakes her head. "I was born for the cold," she says simply. "I was the oldest of my siblings, born early -- just before the last snow. I got thicker skin as a result, so that I wouldn't die. I'm built for it," she finishes, pawing at the snow with her hoof.
"Wow," you say. "That's pretty cool, that you found a way to adapt like that."
Elyxyr smiles. "I'm sure you'll see many other adaptations during your journeys here. You go exporing now, and enjoy yourself."
You promise that you will, and hurry off to do just that.
