Quantum Compting - What is Quantum Computing

Quantum computing, according to the Centre for Quantum Computation From the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge:

Quantum Computing is fundamentally a new mode of information processing that can be performed only by harnessing physical phenomena unique to quantum mechanics (especially quantum interference).

In a quantum computer, the smallest unit is a qubit, whereas in the ordinary computers, the smallest unit is called bits. "This qubit property arises as a direct consequence of its adherence to the laws of quantum mechanics which differ radically from the laws of classical physics" In a normal binary computer information is stored as either 1 or 0, but in a quantum computer, it goes beyond this idea, that is a qubit can either be a 1, 0 or even BOTH!
