| Princess Mononoke is the story of Prince Ashitaka who becomes cursed when he fights and kills a demon that attacks his village. The curse is poisonous hatred which will first tear apart his soul and then kill him. Determined to discover from where the demon came and perhaps to find a cure for the curse, Ashitaka leaves his home and follows the demon's trail to the forest from which it came. With unexpected plot twists, complex characters, and an incredible story, Princess Mononoke carries the watcher through emotional ups and downs, through suspence, surprise, tears, and laughter. The animation is stunningly beautiful, with beautifully collored and detailed people, animals, and backgrounds. This is a true masterpiece and a must-see film. |

| Lady Eboshi is the founder and leader of Irontown, a newly established mining town that destroys the forest as it mines its precious iron. Lady Ebosi was once a prostitute who killed her master and now buys and frees all the prostitutes she finds and teaches them to fight and shoot. She also shelters lepers who develope better guns for her in exchange for her kindness. Because of her generosity, she is well loved by humans, but she is hated by the forest gods because she kills them and destroys their forest. Minnie Driver voices this character. |
