The votes are in, and I've been tallying them for the last few weeks. Well people, I guess you're wondering what was voted on. I went around my city and I asked people who their favorite fighter was. Can I admit that there was no one person who made a difference? Yes, and why? Because each martial artist is inspired by someone, and not everyone has the same one. So I think for this year, I will be a little more descriptive in my questions. Make them a little easier. Where have I been these last few months, a few fights, that's normal for me. Thought a lot about what I want to do here, do I want to join all the artists together? Do I want to cause fights over the artists? The answer is no, yes Bruce Lee should be mentioned here. So should a lot of people, therefor I've taken it upon myself to go through all the information at hand about each one, and decide what I should put here. As promised, a bit about Oleg, and David Tank Abbott. Well now, where to start. Let's get TANK out of the way. How about that commentary in the U.F.C. Well...how about it? As a good note about it, it was understandable...yet I find a four year old could probably understand it just as well. How about his skills, LUNGE, PUNCH, KNEE. If I could rely on that for the rest of my life in all my fights, I'd be just as winded. Good points? Okay, size...but speed is a key factor, and David just doesn't have that. Attitude, well, he discussed that, and he's entitled to his attitude towards fighting. He's got the right f free speech, and that's good for him. It's free listening he has to worry about, because anyone can tune him out. I'm trying not to be all bad about the man, as he fights as I do for the thrill, and sport of it. Competitions are always going to be around, and people from all walks of the world will be in them. Can I go on about his fight against Oleg, both were very winded, but I think it was a good match. This match showed the Russian Bear's true heart for his art. Oleg has always amazed me with his interest in skills, and what he can do. Would I want to fight him? Oleg buddy, if you're out there reading this...no thanks. I'm not like Ken, be your friend, and turn around and fight you. Yeah it's always nice to see who's best, but that kind of fight is best left to the imagination. One disappointment about Oleg, is his movie career. I know he wanted it from the time he came to the U.S....but I'm missing his competitions. All I can say is that fighting remains in our hearts, and we always remember the one fight. Good luck to all competitors I've mentioned on my site, and good luck to you too Mr. Abbott. Anyone interested in what Desiree had to say about TANK? How about OLEG? Read on... |
Got a chance to take down some notes from Desiree...here it is. |
Oleg Taktarov has always been a fun competitor to watch...just love his game face. Always the same for each fight, you can't tell what he's thinking. He's fought like the Russian Bear he is, and his skills are just as great as his dedication. I've learned a bit about his background, his friend who was beaten right next to him. It's hard to imagine what it's like for other people unless you've stepped in their shoes. He fights with heart, and he has a good size and strength for his art. Since he's been on film, I kind of miss him, but as each competitor leaves a sport, another comes in. His fight against Tank Abbott in that early U.F.C. was a pretty memorable one. Both laying totally exhausted on the octagon floor. One of the images left in my mind a feeling of a fight that was battled with heart. His victory proved to me, that after a long period of time in the octagon, Tank couldn't finish the job. The U.F.C where he was bleeding, and MacCarthy stopped the match irritated me. I could see he wasn't ready to give up. He even looked like he didn't like it, and he protested long after that match that he was not ready to give up. I think if he had been allowed to continue some of the matches he fought, he would have won. As for Tank Abbott, I think he's a pretty funny guy. (Drake isn't laughing) He tries to get attention of people...and TICKLE THEM? Gee, I think I'd win that match hands down. No, he's got to be serious about fighting before I can stop laughing at him enough to watch his fights. His usual style of fighting isn't improved. You need to constantly improve, and try and do something new everyday in order to truly live a good life. Sitting there doing the same thing day in day out leaves you behind in your league. I can understand if you're injured, and you can't get up to do something, but if you don't try and learn something new, how will you get better? The sport of martial arts, and fighting are always refreshing when someone learns a new technique, and applies it. I hope for Tank Abbott's sake, he isn't still out there tickling people, and trying to out psych them by words...it just doesn't work here. I often wonder what Royce Gracie would do to him. HEY ROYCE! You out there reading? Desiree |
Now here's an art, sakting in a performance with this costume on...that's Desiree, dressed as a camel that you see appearing on your screen. She did a performance of Noah's Ark in the 1970's |
