Junichi and his sidekick, Ryo, worked as scoutmen recruiting young girls for Mr. Akabane. They first met Nanami, a 29-year old music teacher, when Ryo made a mistake thinking that she was in her early twenties. Nanami was bored with her life realizing, through writing in her diary, that she goes through the same routine every single day. She wanted some adventures and something different. She decided to go to a Gyudon restaurant, unlike the high class restaurants that she usually attended; and she saw Junichi once again. She followed him when she saw him paying with extra game tokens along with his money. Junichi found her rather silly chasing after him for blocks just to return the tokens to him.
     Junichi stood up for a girl named, Juri. He got beat up and met Nanami once again at the train station. Nanami had dropped some music papers, on to the train tracks, so Junichi jumped down to pick it up for her. He accidentally stained the paper with his blood and apologized for it. In return, Nanami gave him her handkerchief so that he could wipe off some of his blood. She invited him to come over to her place to listen to her play the music on the sheet of paper stained with his blood. He accepted her invitation. He listened to her play the music. Even though he was not familiar with the music, he told her that the music sounded very beautiful and it made him felt good. Nanami then went over to him and started kissing him. She asked him to embrace him and eventually they spent the night together.
     Junichi was overwhelmed with happiness, and couldn't believe that he could ever get a woman as wonderful as Nanami. She was beautiful, educated, and of a higher class than him. Just when he thought that he was the luckiest guy ever, she told him to forget that anything ever happened between them. Junichi felt so used and left disappointed. He dropped his rope-like necklace on her bed without knowing.
     Juri was so touched by what Junichi did for her and decided to move in to his place. She expressed her love for Junichi, but he rejected her. He already had someone in his heart, and that was Nanami. On the other hand, Ryo was crazy about Juri.
     Nanami's parents have arranged for her to marry Mr. Manabe. (TT's note: I think he's totally boring and very selfish.) Nanami found him boring also and rather be with someone more exciting, like Junichi. She went to look for him so that she could return his necklace; but he rejected her.
     Junichi was forced by Mr. Akabane to film some AV (adult video) to make up for the money he owed. Unable to find any girl who was willing to do AV, he and Ryo decided to trick Nanami into filming it. They invited her over to their place, and Ryo attempted to rape her while Junichi filmed the whole thing. Seeing how upset Nanami was, Junichi didn't have the heart to go through with the filming. He stopped the whole plan and told Nanami to leave. She then stormed out of their place so fast that she tripped and fell, twisting her ankle. It was raining very hard at the moment. She slowly tried to limp her way home, since she left her purse at Junichi's place and had no money to get home.
     Noticing the rain, Junichi grabbed an umbrella along with Nanami's purse and ran after her. He found her on the floor, wet and pitiful. She had taken off her shoes and was rubbing her ankle. He approached her only to get slapped and hit by her. After Nanami tired down from all the hitting, Junichi offered to carry her home on his back. She refused at the beginning, but she eventually gave in and got on his back. He carried her, her purse, and her shoes home. Junichi joked that Nanami finally had something interesting and different to write in her diary.
     The rain had stopped by the time they got to her place. She thanked him for taking her home. Junichi just laughed and asked her if she was stupid, since he was the one who caused the whole incident. She returned his necklace to him. Junichi asked her to go out with him to a Gyudon restaurant the next time he sees her, and she agreed. They eventually did their Gyudon thingy and the two were very happy.
     Junichi and Ryo was tricked by Mr. Akabane in to a passport scandal with a big Taiwanese mobster. At the same time, Junichi was heartbroken to find out that Nanami was engaged to Mr. Manabe all along. Ryo and Juri knew all about it but tried to keep the whole thing a secret, not wanting to hurt Junichi.
     Nanami realized that she didn't want to do as her parent told any longer. She wanted to follow her heart and decided to run off with the one she loved, Junichi. She moved out of her place and moved in with Junichi. Junichi's little apartment was now holding four members. Nanami's decision was not acceptable to her friends and family. Mr. Manabe kind of went crazy after this whole incident. He couldn't believe that he was dumped for a cheap pimp like Junichi.
     Once again, Mr. Akabane got Junichi and Ryo to do his dirty work. They had to go trade a suitcase of passports with the Taiwanese mobster in return for money. Not knowing that Mr. Akabane had already took the passports to trade with someone else, they nearly got killed by the Taiwanese mobster for giving them a suitcase of junk paper. Ryo was captured and shot as a result of this. Junichi frantically tried to find Mr. Akabane to get the passports to trade for Ryo, who was barely breathing...
