Aims and history of the
society
The Dramafreaks are a students society born on the 19th of February 2001. We are directly linked to the Club d'Anglais of Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour.
The aim of the Dramafreaks is on the one hand to promote
anglophone culture through theatrical shows performed in their original
language. On the other hand, the society enables the UPPA students to live
a unique cultural experience by relating french students and
foreign students. Though we aim at reaching a larger audience than a student-only
audience, the Dramafreaks members have the opportunity to involve themselves
in a unique cultural project and to discover the world of the show-business
with good-will and passion. Indeed, all the members are students and none
of us are professionals, and this is for us an opportunity to discover
the various professions around the show but also the way a show works,
from acting to producing, set-building to directing. What is more, we also
have to organize a group of people, which makes us realize the importance
of working as a team in a joyful atmosphere.
