| IF THE TOOTH
FALLS OFF OR COMES OUT FOLLOWING A INJURY (AVULSION) The obvious question is what to do??? .
Is it possible to re fix (Reimplant) the tooth? the answer is yes
(thank god!!!, on second thought may be thank the dentist as well
) but for all that to happen you should follow these steps ,at least
it will increase the chances of the tooth getting successfully accepted
              by your body.
STEP 1.Catch the tooth only from the crown (it is the white portion of
the tooth that is normally visible in your mouth) and hold it below
a running tap water to wash away any dirt e.t.c. It is important
not to touch the root portion of the tooth.
STEP 2. Now place the tooth in either
 (a) your mouth, place it gently between your cheek and your
teeth (this is probably the only time that a tooth can get
chewed instead of it chewing something).
 (b) Milk
 (c) normal saline.
STEP 3.Rush to the nearest dentist and he can fix it back into the socket
              from where it came out.
The tooth will have to be splinted in a proper
position for a few weeks and will probably need an R.C.T to be performed.
The chances of success are 90% if the tooth has remained out of
socket for less than 30 minutes. and remember to put a boll of cotton
soaked in water and squeezed, over the wound . COMPLICATIONS: There are two main complications that are likely
 (a) root resorption (loss of root structure), it may ultimately
              lead to tooth loss.
 (b) ankylosis (fusion of tooth with bone).
