History

DREAMLORD were founded in January 2nd,1995,after its members met up and agreed to split up with other bands they were playing with and focus on playing together .The original line-up of  Dreamlord consisted of the following:

Babis Paleogeorgos - Rhythm Guitar,Vocals
Kostas Kanavidis - Drums
Yiannis Glykiotis - Lead Guitar
Yiannis Kouris - Bass,Vocals

With this line-up,the band recorded its first demo-tape "LORDS OF DREAM",after a year of intence rehearsals.The demo recordings were finished in January of 1996 and immediately,the band released it and distributed it to the underground circles of the time,for free and even by encouraging those who got it to copy it to others.This way, they became well known to a wide range of metalheads,who would fill the small open air festival,which the band organised with other groups for its first gig,reaching the much encouraging number of  500 frenzied people, who watched the band's first concert ever,in May 1996.There followed numerous shows throughout Athens,until the first problems came up: Drummer Kostas Kanavidis decided to depart from the band, due to music differences.With this being a very difficult situation,the band began looking for a new drummer.

The seat behind the drums was taken by current drummer,Vasilis Hadgis,in March of 1997.Hadgis,having seen Dreamlord in concerts as a member of another band Dreamlord played with,immediately accepted and,thus,the band began rehearsing with its new line-up,until July 1997,when they gave their first concert with Vasilis behind the drums.With the show being a success, the band continued rehearsing,writing new stuff and playing live,until March 1999,when they recorded their second demo,this time on CD, named "ALTAR OF DEPRESSION". The release of the demo was much delayed due to some problems and happened in the end of 2000,receivig good critics from people and a grade 6.5/10 from the greek METAL HAMMER magazine (see the reviews section).After that, the band stopped all activities and the only thing going was the promotion of  "ALTAR...",because of military obligations.

After almost 3 years in inactivity,the band members finished with their military obligations (but unfortunately lost their hair, :-p),and decided to continue with the band.So, the boys are currently writing new material,rehearsing and prepare for live gigs wherever.....WATCH OUT!!!
