Writing From Your Heart!

Have you ever read something that used adequate words and descriptions but somehow, didn't really 'hit you in the gut' or involve you enough to keep you interested?  Maybe you forced yourself to make it through the first page or two, then you became so bored that you put an end to your agony and tossed the entire piece.  This happens with either fiction or non-fiction.  Since the advent of "creative non-fiction", even what, potentially, may be one of the world's driest topics, can be written  with sparkle if the writer is interested in the subject matter enough to really put their heart into it.

Writing from the heart is not new. Books have been written about it and courses developed to teach you how to do it.  A similar concept is presented to writers by Natalie Goldberg in her book "Writing Down the Bones." What I am talking about here is getting down into what your insides are feeling. Get to the soul of the matter.  What do you have buried underneath the surface?   If you're going to present a written work to the reader, present one that you've written with your entire spirit, not just your mind!

Do you have something you have written that fits this description? If so, would you like to share it with others?  Let us know, and we'll post it so others can learn from it.  Any comments you would like to make can be included.  Any feedback by readers can be posted on the Writers Cove Forum.  To post your work, e-mail me and I will set up a page just for you.
