02/21/01 - Around here I'm always putting out fires, but today I put out a real one ... No shit, flames and everything. Seems The Jock went to boil some water and turned on the wrong burner. Could have burned the whole house down for 20 cents worth of noodles, go figure. Ever see Tupperware burn? It's not a pretty sight and the smell is memorable to say the least. One good thing to say about this is that I still have my reflexes, I was quite impressive. Doesn't matter that I put an electrical fire out with water. Well, I actually tried to move the burning plastic in hopes to turn off the stove. But, that only made the flame burst larger. It took two attempts with the water, but it did the trick. Just a blob of sizzling ooze remained. The Jock just stood there with his mouth opened, shock and horror in his eyes. I probably should have let the place burn down. With me around to put out the fires, they'll never leave.
