TYRIAN BOULEVARDE OF HEROES

If you don't include a 3-year period where we stopped playing, our Dark Sun campaign has been running since the world's inception in 1991. During this time there have been more PCs than any of us can remember. The newer ones are linked below, but most of those who we played from 91-95 have been lost to the sands of time. Of course, there are a few that are so memorable we'll never forget them.

The great main road of Tyr, Caravan Way, was renamed the Boulevarde of Heroes in FY13, after Tyr survived an attack by the combined city-states of Urik, Nibenay and Gulg. Great statues were erected there to commemorate those who have exemplified themselves in their service to the Free City. These statues depict great heroes, one and all (except sneaky Tithian's). May they hold the test of time, standing as testament to great deeds long after their memories fade to dust.

TITHIAN

King Tithian I

Liberator of Tyr

Tithian usurped Tyr's throne after playing a part in the assassination of Kalak. His first edict demanded the liberation of all slaves in Tyr. He disappeared in Free Year 10. The public believes he died fighting the Dragon, but he was actually imprisoned in the Cerulean Storm.

AGIS

Agis of Asticles

Liberator of Tyr

Agis played a part in the assassination of Kalak, and then forced Tithian to free the slaves. Agis played a major role in the formative years of the Tyrian Council, countering each of Tithian's selfish and undemocratic plays with an honest one of his own. He disappeared with Tithian in Free Year 10. The public believes he died fighting the Dragon, but he was actually killed by Tithian in the Sea of Silt.

RIKUS

Rikus the Freed Slave

Liberator of Tyr

Rikus threw the spear which struck Kalak down in Free Year 1. Less than a year later he played general and defended Tyr from an Urikite army, although he lost his own legion when he later tried to sack Urik. More recently, Rikus has been credited with the destruction of the Dragon and the sorcerer-kings of three more cities. Rikus currently serves on the Tyrian council.

NEEVA

Neeva

Liberator of Tyr

Rikus' fighting partner, Neeva aided him in Kalak's assassination, the Tyr-Urik war, and the destruction of the Dragon. Many Tyrians believe that Rikus would be nothing more than an over-sized buffoon without Neeva's cool reasoning power to guide him. A wedge was driven between the two when Neeva sired a mul boy to a dwarf from Kled. The father was later killed by the Dragon. Neeva currently lives in Tyr with her son, Rkard.

SADIRA

Sadira of Asticles

Liberator of Tyr

Sadira played an important part in the assassination of Kalak, and was the driving force behind the Dragon's destruction. Since the death of her husband Agis she has also worked hard to keep the Tyrian Council honest, decriminalising wizard magic and instituting many policies to aid the impoverished ex-slaves. Because of the chaos she caused across the Tablelands with the destruction of the Dragon and three sorcerer-kings, Sadira is hated in almost every city but Tyr. The strange black skin and devastating shadow-powers she gained in Free Year 3 do little but fuel the suspiciousness and hate. Still, she is loved by most of the Tyrians for the freedom she gave them.

BORDRICK

General Bordrick

Defender of Tyr

Bordrick was assigned General of Tyr in Free Year 13, when the combined forces of Urik, Nibenay and Gulg conspired to destroy the Free City. He was cast from Athas by the sorcerer-kings themselves, but the persistent dwarf managed to find a way back and lead his legions to victory! He has since disappeared from the face of Athas.

ZIGRUTH

Zigruth of Zigruth

Defender of Tyr

Quite possibly the most powerful preserver known in the city of Tyr. After the legalisation of such magic, Zigruth was more than happy to drive back the combined armies of Urik, Nibenay and Gulg. Some Tyrians say that the mage cast fireball after fireball until even the sorcerer-kings were forced to retreat; others rave that he summoned a creature of greater ferocity than even the Dragon to terrorise the battlefield. While such tales are surely exaggerated, the fact remains that he did repel the attack.

CORKY

Corky

Defender of Tyr

Corky was perhaps the most beloved citizen of Tyr. A radiantly beautiful woman who aided Zigruth and Bordrick in the War of Four Cities. Popular folklore also holds that she once prevented the resurrection of Kalak.

AHME

Ahme

Defender of Tyr

Ahme fought fearlessly in the War of Four Cities. She wielded the Blade of the Crimson Shrine, and it is said that she could not be struck down while the weapon was gripped in her hand. Perhaps the greatest human gladiator of all time.

BENNI

Benni

Defender of Tyr

Benni the half-giant recovered a precious tome for the Tyrian Council after it was stolen - twice! She also reigned as undefeated champion of the Tyrian arena. Most important of all, Benni discovered the Dregoth threat, and helped Sirak to destroy his planar gate in New Giustenal. She later died during the Coruscation at Raam, in an attempt to destroy a second planar gate before Dregoth could find it.

TEAL

Teal

Defender of Tyr

Teal, a half-elven bard/psionicist, was the brains of the Benni/Teal/Sirak combination. Without her, the others would probably not have survived New Giustenal, and even if they did they'd probably have forgotten to tell the Council about Dregoth. Nevertheless, Teal did not manage to survive her final encounter with Dregoth, during the Day of Light.

SIRAK

Sirak Siroaklen

Defender of Tyr

Sirak, a druid from the Ringing Mountains, was the first aarakocra citizen of Tyr. He was actually responsible for the destruction of Dregoth's first planar gate, and he died trying to destroy a second before it could fall into the Dread King's clutches.
