'OLD'
CAMPAIGN PCS
Oops! Until 02-Mar-00, Benni, Sirak, Teal and Jarsis made up my group's PC party. They all died trying to protect the Consecrated Sepulchre of Badna (in Raam) from Dregoth.
BENNI
A female half-giant gladiator, undefeated in the arenas of Tyr. Last adventuring member of the UnderTyr party, she twice retrieved the Manual of the Life Masters for the Tyrian Council. Her greatest love is hats, and her heartfelt ambition is to one day own her very own hat store in the Free City. Pet hate is halflings. Greatest fears are mice, fez hats, and carny folk.
The only PC to actually do damage to Dregoth, she died fighting the undead Dragon King.
XENO
Xeno is a tarek fighter/psionicist who lost his heritage. He was abandoned by his tribe shortly after birth and raised by Durwadala, the thri-kreen druid of Lost Oasis. She trained him in psionics, and taught him the ways of the world. Xeno helped Benni retrieve the Manual of the Life Masters, and helped Sirak destroy the Planar Gate in New Giustenal. Last seen escorting Durwadala on a final journey to the Chak'sa, her death bed. (Xeno was actually poisoned by fellow PCs, raised, and then retired.)
THORN
Thorn is a mutant of some sort. He appears to be a mul, but sharp bony thorns protrude from the left side of his body, head to foot. He spent the first years of his life observing city-states from the desert. When he finally entered society he was drawn into the search for the Lifeshaper Manual, only to be slain by Nikron in UnderTyr.
NIKRON
A fanatical fire priest/psionicist halfling from the distant northern tribe at Small Water. Nikron's motives in the search for the Manual were unclear, but he quickly proved an unstable character. Nikron killed Thorn, and was later slain himself by a supernatural creature of the ancients.
HAAKU
A free wizard elf who wisely decided to abandon the search for the Manual (ie., his player quit).
PALEER
One of many free wizard preservers to die in the search for the Manual. Low-level preservers have high mortality rates, I guess.
VEXNAKOV
A conniving elven ranger and preserver. This guy double-crossed the Alliance in two city-states, second-guessed his chieftain, and turned his back on his tribe. Fortunately for Vex, he was eaten by a fire drake before any of these groups could seek retribution. Before his death he stole a sun sapphire from an ancient halfling ruin - the Forest Ridge halflings have been pursuing his companions ever since.
TEAL
A half-elven bard/psionicist, formerly a slave of House Shom. She escaped her bondage, fleeing to Tyr with Duranx, and fell in with Benni. Teal has questionable morals, and some might even consider her depraved. Despite this, Teal eventually gave her life fighting Dregoth in the Consecrated Sepulchre of Badna.
DURANX
A ridiculous dwarven wrestler, with a life focus to gain power of the magical nature. He travelled with Teal, met up with Benni and Xeno, and shortly afterward met his death at the hands of vengeful halflings. Teal dumped his body in the Silt Sea to deter his banshee from rising.
SIRAK
Sirak Siroaklen, druid of the Windy Passage. Sirak is an aarakocra, one who emmigrated from Winter Nest and chose a druidic life. His guarded lands are in the Ringing Mountains near Tyr, but a mystic call drew him into the paths of Benni, Teal and the others. He travelled with them to New Giustenal and was primarily responsible for the defeat of Dregoth and the destruction of the Planar Gate. Unfortunately, the resulting explosion tore him from Athas, casting him alone into the deadly Eighth Layer of Hell. Somehow he managed to return to Athas in time to give his life defending Raam from Dregoth and his Dread Legions.
RUACH
Ruach is a first generation dray, one of the mutant outcasts Dregoth discarded before the final creation of his perfect dragonmen. He looks like a second generation dray but for his purple scales, tongue stump (he is mute), and his vestigial wing stumps. Ruach is quiet and moody, deeply troubled by Dregoth's recent destruction of his entire race. He disappeared from the face of Athas in FY11.
BOQUEEBUS
Boqueebus was born in the Green Age, nine thousand years before the present. Psionics were at their peak in those days, and Boqueebus was a student in the University of Giustenal. A particularly hard session of practice resulted in Boqueebus' discovery of the time travel power. The half-elf attempted a jaunt into the past. Somehow, he wound up in the future, in the ruins of Giustenal. Boqueebus had bounced forward in time, but the half-elf believed he had somehow altered the past and returned to the present, only to find the world had changed. He dismayed at the destruction of the world, believing it to be his fault, until stumbling into the claws of Dregoth's templars. He has not been seen since.
TAINTIUS
An evil preserver? Taintius was an insane wizard in the service of King Hamanu. He wished to be a myrmeleon, hunting his fellow preservers in the Veilled Alliance. Hamanu had other plans. The Lion King sent Taintius to Tyr to track down a renegade defiler who stole a powerful magic wand, where he was helped by Benni, Teal and Xeno in a quest that spanned Athas and the Forgotten Realms! Taintius was eventually killed by a giant wasp while fleeing from Teal (who wanted payment for her assassination of Xeno - a long, sick story).
TAKARA NISCHEN
Takara is a half-elven cleric/mage/psionicist. He helped Benni and Teal escape from a crazed village of halflings and has been travelling with them ever since. Consumed with a love for money and power, Takara is faultlessly selfish.
QUARI-AK
Quari-ak, a wandering thri-kreen, met Benni, Teal and Takara as they escorted Durwadala on her last journey. On that run he encountered the zik-trin for the first time, and those giant black kreen immediately gained his emnity. When Benni and her friends left to warn Tyr, Quari-ak stayed in Dej to protect the kreen there. He has since risen to the position of hoz (leader).
HARN
Harn is a tiefling, a strange human-like creature from another plane. Obsessed with law and order, he claimed to hail from a place called Sigil. He also claimed to be a bounty-hunter, in pursuit of another bounty-hunter. Sure enough, that other bounty hunter turned up to pay Harn a visit. Scourge killed Harn, and then single-handedly captured Benni, Teal and Takara. Before his death Harn looked basically human. He was distinguishable by a set of circular mandibles where his mouth should have been, and by his short reptilian tail.
KASALLDRA
A strange short female, calling herself a kender, and claiming to hail from a planet named Krynn. Kasalldra was obviously insane. Her trademark immunity to fear got her killed when she tried to befriend an undead monster.
JARSIS
Jarsis is a strange creature, bigger than a mul but smaller than a half-giant. His head is bestial, with flaring nostrils and two curving horns. His like has never been seen on Athas. He found himself in the world of the dark sun after escaping from Dregoth's Crystal Matrix.
ASGARR
A human psionicist from the Free City of Tyr. Asgarr was travelling with a merchant caravan when it was attacked by Dregoth. Next thing he knew he was in Earthworld. Asgarr died in less than 2 hours, sandwiched between an irate sphinx and a giant crocodile.
