Q. What kind of education and training do chiropractors have?

A. Chiropractors are doctors so it comes as no surprise that the training and education is very rigorous and demanding.  Chiropractors must have 6 years of post secondary education, including no less than 4500 hours of classroom and clinical instruction at an institution approved by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).

Q. What are the qualifications required to be licensed as a chiropractor?

A. Chiropractors must pass four National Exams and State Exams (this differs from state to state) at the end of their training.

Q. Is chiropractic new?

A. Not at all.  In fact, chiropractic care has been around and practiced safely for over 100 years, and, in fact, manipulation as practiced by chiropractors, has been documented as being performed in ancient Greek and Egyptian times.

Q. Can Chiropractic Prevent Back Surgery?

A. In a majority of cases the answer is a resounding "yes"!

Q. Can a person who had back surgery see a chiropractor?

A. Yes.  Many people who have had various kinds of spinal surgery often discover a return to their same back problems several months or years later.  There are so many of these people that the condition has a special name: "Failed Back Surgery Syndrome."  These people can usually receive chiropractic care without undue worry.  Usually the chiropractic care will save them from future operations.  It's best to check with your chiropractor on a case-to-case basis.
