Ballroom Dance Class Step Combinations

This is the list of steps combinations that I have learned in the ballroom dance classes I have taken so far. Steps that were taught are listed separately. The combinations listed here do not necessarily include all the steps taught and naturally there are tons of other combinations that are possible. These are the ones that I remember being taught in class. Normally I will update this page once a week while dance classes are in session (and I'm taking at least one class).

Quick Links: Summer 1997, Fall 1997, Spring 1998, Summer 1998, Fall 1998, Spring 1999, Summer 1999, Fall 1999, Spring 2000, Summer 2000, Fall 2000, Fall 2001. If I took more than one class at the same time, you'll just have to scroll down the list to see it; I'm just setting up the quick links to go to the first one for the listed time period. Some classes emphasized technique more than steps and/or combinations and so the notes here may seem sparse; I'll provide my notes on technique topics upon request, but please specify a topic (e.g., notes on a particular figure, general notes on some action) because I'm not sending out every note I've ever written. :) Questions on something in particular are fine, just don't ask for all my notes on some dance or anything like that. This is meant mainly for people in the classes who may have missed something, but I will try to fulfill reasonable outside requests as well.

NOTE: You'll probably need to use your knowledge of the moves in these combinations to figure out what the repeats (x2, x3, x4, etc.) refer to. In some cases it can be the whole syllabus move repeated a few times (e.g., Left Shoulder Shove x2), but sometimes it will be the number of measures the move is done (e.g., Hand to Hand x3). Sorry if this causes any confusion, but I sort of chose the number of repeats based on what seemed intuitively correct or more accurate. You can always adapt them to suit your own purposes if necessary anyway.
