The competition is executed by means of a collaboration between the Norwegian National Opera, the Norwegian Academy of Music, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Among the other founders are the City of Oslo, the Lindeman Foundation and the National Federation of Norwegian Musical Artists. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs is the most important financial contributor to the competition.
Competition schedule 2003
The Competition is open to the public! Preliminaries and semi-finals will be carried out at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Six finalists will perform operatic arias at the finals concert, which will be held in the Oslo Concert Hall with The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the concert by H.M. Queen Sonja.
