New Digital World. New Digimon. New adventure. A Digimon is caught in a battle, and ends up being blasted into the real world. Meanwhile, the exact battle takes place in a Digimon Card Game, being played by two 13 year old boys, Takato, and Kazu. Takato gloats at his great victory while Kazu whines about losing. Kazu runs to school, leaving Takato to put his cards away. Unfortunately, he knocks the box over. He notices one card that wasn't there a second ago. He swipes it through his card reader, or tries to, as it starts to spark! He puts the mysterious blue card in his card box, and grabs his back-pack and runs to school. While being scolded for being late, Takato whips out his doodle pad and sketches a red dinosaur Digimon on his note pad. His teacher sees him sketching and he accidentally mouths off to her, getting him in detention. (That sounds like me!) After school, he goes back to the park. He finds his card box glowing. The card reader glows and transforms into a Digivice. (called a D-Ark in the Japanese version) He can't believe it's real. Unfortunetly, there is no data on it though. He rushes home and digs through his cards only to find that the blue card is gone. Takato figures out that the Blue Card transformed the Card Reader into the Digivice and it is not from this world. He tries swiping the sketchpad with Guilmon's pic and stats but it is stuck and he has to go to dinner. I guess it was hungry, because it started scanning all the pages from his notepad. Now he has a Digi-egg! That night a Digital Field appears in Takato dreams. A girl appears and stares down a Lynxmon. She steps out of the way to reveal her Digimon, Renamon. Lynxmon tackles Renamon. Takato watches on as the girl swipes Speed Card and Renamon dashes out from under Lynxmon. Renamon uses an Attack called Diamond Storm that deletes Lynxmon. Takato wakes up in bed, Digivice in hand. He looks out his window out a two towered building and comments that there is something weird about them. Meanwhile, the little Digimon is still amazed by the strange Real World, and the strange 'Digimon' that live in it. That morning, Takato tells his friends, Kazu and Kenta about his dream and Digivice. When he says his hands were numb from the rain, they laugh and say he probably wet the bed. Takato sits back in the secret spot and ponders about the girl. Suddenly his Digivice beeps and he checks to see that the egg has hatched. Question is, where did it go? He uses the map on the Digivice that points to the two towers. Meanwhile, in the two towered building, a group called Hypnos is tracing Guilmon, as he is about to bio-emerge. Meanwhile, near the Hypnos headquarters, A Digital Field appears and a girl named Suzie notices it and points it out to her brother, Henry. Takato, trying to track the signal, head through an alley, under a crawl space, and comes out in the digital field. Takato stare in shock as his doodle on a piece of paper, is now sitting in front of him, alive. Takato tries to talk to him, but at the moment he's preoccupied with some rats. He blasts them away and then turns to Takato. Fortunetly, Guilmon doesn't blast him. Instead, he just says hi. But for Takato, this is only the beginning.
Kazu: If you wanna play again, I'd be happy to beat you!
Takato hid Guilmon in a cardboard box and returned home safely, but his parents were somewhat suspicious. Guilmon came out from the box the moment he was in Takato’s room and started sniffing at Takato’s stuff (like his backpack). Takato found his old goggles under his bed and stuck them on, declaring himself a Digimon Tamer. (Oh great another goggle head...) At that time, Hypnos, a goverment organization set up to take care of the digimon, had another 'wild one', a digimon trying to come to the real world. They failed to capture the Digimon. That night, Rika charged into the Digital Field fog with Renamon to fight. The Digimon was Goblimon. Renamon fought with her strength and grace, but Goblimon seemed to be unaffected. Rika used a modify card, Digi-Modify, (the Japanese version it's Card Slash). Goblimon to Digivolves to his champion level, Fuugamon. But Renamon was energized from the option card and destroyed Fuugamon with one shot. Next morning, Takato took as much bread as possible from his family bakery and snuck Guilmon in a cardboard box out his room. He hid Guilmon in a construction site with all the bread he took earlier and left for school. Guilmon became lonely and decided to find Takato. He went around the school searching for Takato in the cardboard box, eventually causing panic to some teachers. After blowing his cover, Guilmon went into the school kitchen and ate the entire school lunch! (Now that's brave...) Takato heard about the commotion in school and found the abandoned cardboard box. He realized it was Guilmon and went to search for him. When Takato couldn’t find Guilmon anywhere he began to worry. No sooner was he approached by Henry, and his Digimon Terriermon. Terriermon said that Takato wasn’t a very good Digimon Tamer since he lost his own Digimon. Getting upset, Takato started blaming himself. He finally found Guilmon on the roof of the school building. Guilmon was just happy to see Takato again. After school, Takato and Guilmon were strolling in Shinjuku Central Park looking for a place to hide when Renamon attacks Guilmon! Rika demanded a Digimon battle.
Takato: Hey, what does 'momantai' mean?
Terriermon: Haven't you figured that out yet? It means take it easy!
Rika and Renamon challenge Takato and Guilmon to do battle. Guilmon fights, not listening to Takato's plee to stop. Fortunetly, their battle is broken up by Henry and Terriermon. Takato finds a home for Guilmon in the park while he is in school. Henry and Takato talk about the other girl Rika, and the fact that she only thinks Digimon are made to fight. But seeing how happy they are just playing around, they both know that's not true. Terriermon had promised Henry not to Digivolve, but deep down he knew he might have to. Renamon and Rika attack Takato and Guilmon again. Henry and Terriermon come to break up the fighting again, but Terriermon ends up in the line of Renamon's attack! Terriermon Digivolves in Gargomon, but seems to be uncontrollable! He goes on a shooting rampage shooting almost anything and everything. Renamon attacks but is unable to restrain him. Now with Rika staring down the barrel of Gargomon, Guilmon and Renamon come to help. Is this how Digimon are when they Digivolve?
It Came From The Other Side
Upset that Terriermon Digivolved, and the fact that he can't take Gargomon home, Henry has him stand on his head til he reverts back to Terriermon. Takato decides that he'll try to take Guilmon into public, and explain that its a costume. Good thing for him it works. Henry does some reminising, as we get to see how he became a tamer. His dad bought him the newest Digimon Game, and Henry choose Terriermon as his Digimon. While playing he starts to question the reality of the game. He realizes that Terriermon is alive and hurt. Suddenly, a blue card appears and Henry gives it a swipe. Upset, his card reader transforms into a Digivice, and Terriermon is transported into Henry's arms. Crying, and apologizing for making him fight. Terriermon simply responds momantai, and that everything is okay. Out and about again, Takato and Henry begin being chased be a digital field. Gorrillamon appears, which is who Terriermon was fighting in the game. Henry doesn't want Terriermon to fight, fearing that he might get hurt, and he doesn't want to hurt any other Digimon as well. Not sure what to do, Henry gets an idea to use one of Takato's odd modify cards. Guilmon and Terriermon are able to take care of Gorillamon, but Henry insists that Terriermon don't load his data. Henry hopes that Gorillamon's data would make it back to the other side.
Dream a Little Dream
Takato: Man, mom was right. My imagination can be a curse.
(-_-)
What a surprise at school! Someone, or something in this case, has drawn
chalk lines all over the soccer field.
While the other kids speak of ghosts and aliens committing this crime,
Takato fears that Guilmon is responsible. While visiting the school over the
weekend to feed the animals, Guilmon smells a Digimon. Fortunetly, it's
not a very threating one. Actually its Calumon, who would much rather play
than fight. Takato and Henry decide to find the little guy a
Tamer. Takato considers Kazu, and Jeri, but decides against it. Henry suggests
Suzie, his sister. That night Calumon and Guilmon end up on the field playing
when Vilemon bio-emerges and attacks them. Rika and Renamon arrive and
and take care of him and leave just as quickly. Calumon decides that all of
them are just to dangerous to hang around, and leaves to find some new people
to play with. The tamers decide that some Digimon just don't need a tamer.
