Rika: But winning made you stronger.
Kyubimon: No, you made me stronger. You weren't afraid to show how much you
cared about me. Like a true friend.
Rika: I see. Do me a favor? Don't tell anyone.
Rika and Renamon are battling Allomon, but Renamon can win alone. Guilmon and Terriermon show up to help, but Renamon insists on beating Allomon by herself and she does. Rika is angered at the fact that Renamon needed help. In a flash back we see how Rika became Renamon's tamer. After winning a Digimon Card tournament, she finds that many Digimon want her to be her tamer. She finds a blue card and swipes it, turing her card reader into a Digivice. She make a wish that she wants to be Renamon's tamer. When she looks up, Renamon stands before her. During the night while Rika sleeps, Renamon visits the town. During her visit she meets Impmon. He mocks her for obeying humans. Another digimon bio-emerges, and Rika's digivice goes off. She meets Renamon at the location of the digital field. The enemy is Dokugumon, and is too strong for Renamon by herself. When Rika is about to be hit with Dokugumon's attack, Renamon jumps in the way to save her. Rika goes to her side, her digivice activates, and Renamon digivolves to Kyubimon. Dokugumon is destroyed, and the relationship between Rika and Renamon seems to be improving.
Rika: Hey! You mention that dream again, and I'll send you to dreamland for
good!
(ahhh what this show finally needed, a Digi-bitch!)
Takato and Guilmon are walking around town when suddenly Guilmon begins to disappear. He reappears, but now Takato is worried. He visits Henry and Rika to get their advice. Neither of them have anything hopeful to tell Takato. As he and Guilmon are walking home, Guilmon completely disappears. Takato is heart broken, but determined to get his partner back. The next day the three Tamers head out to find Guilmon. They follow the signal on their digivices, which leads them down the storm tunnel that goes underground and connects both towns. Once they reach the end of the tunnel they discover a strange digital field. They enter it, and inside they find Guilmon. Unfortunately, Yamaki has also discovered the field, and sends in his yuggoth program to delete it! The Tamers barely escape before it is deleted. Takato and Guilmon are now reunited.
Takato: Why are you burying your dinner?
Guilmon: Because then I get to dig it up later and eat it.
Takato: Hahaha! I had to ask! Logic is not your middle name.
Guilmon: Nope. Don't have a middle name.
Reports have arisen that someone is disturbing couples in the parks. Takato suspects that Guilmon is to behind it. That night, Impmon pays a visit to Guilmon, demanding his bread. He then starts about how humans are worthless, and not worthy of Digimon's time. He convices Guilmon to go out and play, but after scaring a couple, Guilmon goes home because it's not really any fun. Takato goes to check on Guilmon, who tells him that he was out with Impmon, but Takato misses the whole story and yells at him. Later on a digital field appears, and Impmon provokes the digimon inside, causing it to bio-emerge. The digimon is Devidramon. He flies over the city, and the Tamers head to fight him. Guilmon tries to fight him, but he is outmatched. While Guilmon is fighting, Terriermon finds out that Impmon was the one messing with people in the park. Guilmon is innocent. He is now in the clutches of Devidramon. Takato realizes he was wrong, his digivice lights up, and Guilmon digivolves into Growlmon. He destroys Devidramon and downloads his data with little struggle. He then lets out a menacing roar that can be heard throughout the city...
Not As Seen On TV
Growlmon is huge, and Takato is terribly afraid of him. He worries that he is a different person. But, it seems he's still the same, and tells Takato not to be afraid of him. Takato realizes that it is just Guilmon, despite the fact that he digivolved. Takato tries to make him de-digivolve, but can't seem to do it. They try running, but wore themselves out instead. Then they tried praying, but even that may take some time. Takato and Henry decide to try and hide him until he de-digivolves. They hide him in a tunnel, but during the night Impmon chases him out. The next day they decide to hide him in the park and paint him in camoflauge colors. Rika shows up and makes the point that digimon would still be able to find him. Then it starts to rain, and the paint runs off of Growlmon. Takato fears that he will never return to Guilmon, and starts to cry. Suddenly the rain stops and a rainbow appears. Data is released from Growlmon, and he de-digivolves back into Guilmon. Just another day in paradise!
The Icemon Cometh
Rika: She's my friend. I care because she's my friend! (Now she's gets it!)
(Renamon digivolves to Kyubimon!)
Rika is curious as to how Guilmon digivolved without Takato being a fierce
Tamer like she is. She feels a cold presence, and decides to return home.
Even there she feels it. Renamon says she will protect Rika, but Rika claims
she doesn't need her help. Rika takes off, but the cold presence she felt
earlier continues to haunt her. She is suddenly pulled into a digital field
by IceDevimon. He wants her to become his Tamer. Takato and Henry arrive on
the scene to fight whatever digimon has emerged, but IceDevimon freezes their
digimon! Renamon arrives, but IceDevimon defeats her even when she
digivolves to Kyubimon. Henry uses a card to free Terriermon and
Guilmon. Guilmon engages IceDevimon, and is able to destroy him with some
stratigic modify cards from Takato. After the battle, Rika claims she hates all
digimon. She and Kyubimon leave in separate directions.
