January 18, 2000 - Tuesday

Oh! What a wonderful weekend I had! First things first. Friday I did get off of work at 3:30pm and walked to the Kemper building to meet Joseph, who was being gracious enough to drive me home even though he wasn't talking to me. And I was in a horrible mood, he hadn't been paying ANY attention to me, and I was wondering what the hell was up and if we were going to be history soon, and I saw him walking toward me on the sidewalk...I was practically holding my breath, because to say something would only make it worse, I thought. Why open your mouth when you don't know what the response will be...and he took my hand in his...and squeezed. Then he looked at me and said "I wanted to buy you a flower from the vendor that was always out here. I didn't realize he was seasonal. I'm sorry"

I melted. Right then and there. Melted. Joseph is the most charming man I have ever dated. How could I not love him?

This, of course, set the tone for the entire weekend. We had so much fun. Saturday afternoon I actually spent with my friend Kathy's cousin Becky (hmmm...have to get a pic of Becky so I can put up a web page for her) and Becky's friend Rae. We were going to go shopping. I don't know how many people know this, but I HATE SHOPPING. I mean, I'd rather go to the dentist, I'd rather mop a floor, I would rather do just about anything than shop. Clothes, shoes, you name it, I hate having to buy it. So my plan is this: find the young/poor people I know and PAY THEM to shop for me! It's like having my own personal shopper, but much less expensive. Friends and family will shop for you if you feed them a meal! Really! I just had to buy Becky some Burger King food, and she did two HOURS worth of shopping for me! I got two outfits from Carson Piere Scott and the total was only $124!! Considering one of the outfits was Liz Claiborne, I think that was a helluva deal! Please remember ~ I work in a very corporate environment, so I can't go over to K-Mart (much as i would like to) and pick out some cute little running-around outfit. I HAVE to have suit~like creatures hanging in my closet. It is the only way....*sigh*

So after shopping we went back to my house to transfer the girls from my car to Joseph's car. I had a dinner date with Joseph and John (a friend of Joseph's)at the Red Lobster, and time was beginning to run short.

OH! While at the mall, I almost got hit by a car! When I stopped to catch my breath (I had to do a very 'speed racer' swerve maneuver with my car to not get hit and my heart was still racing)
