You will need to choose either a science fiction or fantasy novel and have it approved by your teacher. Your book project this month will require a visual element (the paper bag and its contents) AND an oral presentation. For your oral presentation, you will be retelling the story in your own words using the props you have made and collected for the paper bag part of the project. Read on for the details! |

4. Inside your bag you will place 8-10 props, or items that will help you tell the story to the class. At least four (4) of these props must be handmade. |
DIRECTIONS FOR THE ORAL PRESENTATION: |
You will have 3-5 minutes to present your book to the class. You will RETELL the story using the props in your bag. You will use these props to help you tell the story. You will need to practice your storytelling several times before doing it for the class. Remember! You cannot just pull the props out of the bag and explain them. Your props should be visual clues to help us see the story. |
