This month's book project: BIOGRAPHY
DUE DATE:   NOVEMBER 3, 2000

Your next book project must be either a biography or an autobiography.  In addition to reading your chosen book, you will need to do some research on the subject of your book.
Your project has three parts:
1.  An illustrated time line showing 7-10 important dates and events in your   subject's life.
2.  Two well-edited paragraphs which answer these questions:
  • a.  Why is your subject famous? What contributions has this person made?  Why .are these contributions significant or important?
  •  b. Do you admire this person?  Why or why not?
3.  A 2-3 minute oral presentation
How your project will be graded:
Time Line
Includes  7-10 significant life dates/events 10 points
Illustrations are detailed, neat, in color  10 points
Explanations of dates are error-free 10 points
Creativity or uniqueness of your timeline 5 points
Paragraphs
Person's contributions/significance explained (question a) 10 points
Your opinion of person explained and supported (question b) 10 points
Used complete sentences 5 points
No errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation 10 points
Oral Presentation:
Shows evidence of preparation/practice
(minimal use of notes, didn't read report)		 10 points
Audible and understandable 5 points
Maintained eye contact 5 points
Showed knowledge of  subject (able to answer questions, give examples) 5 points
Creativity or uniqueness of presentation 5 points
Total points for Book project:             100 points
