Interview with the Vampire -

Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst and Stephen Rea (What a cast!)

This is one of the best films I have ever seen. It has been eight years since I first watched it, and my love for it has not worn off yet. It stays pretty loyal to the book and perfectly captures the atmosphere of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Some questionable casting in my opinion, Antonio Banderas as Armand, a seventeen year old Russian boy with light auburn hair and almond eyes? Many people dismiss Tom Cruise's portrayal of Lestat, but in my opinion he did a pretty good job. I also found it very amusing that Brad never quite got the hang of talking with those fangs in his mouth. The movie had great flavors from times past, I myself have a soft spot for the Baroque (they had such beautiful dresses then). It also created great pathos for the characters, esspecially Louis whom I felt I could truly relate to. Over all a great film and I highly recommend renting or buying it if you havent already done so! (that reminds me I have to go get it on DVD.)
